My sub/amp doesn't work.

I have a Legacy LA370, along with a Pyle 10in. sub. The sub works fine, we've tested it. The amp, however, doesn't work. The "protect" light is stuck on and i don't know what to do to fix it. We tested all the connections and they seemed good. Not sure what to try next.

Hi i have a bnps102 subwoofer system along with a pyle 1400 watt amp. my amp is getting power to it hence the green light lighting up and the subs sounded great but last week during a song they both...

You are right about the scratching sound meaning the speaker is blown. The other one by it not playing it could mean the voice coils in it are blown or burnt. The safest way to check the speaker is to connect it to a standard 9 volt battery and listen for a popping noise when you make the connection and look the see if the cone stands up as long as the connection is made n returns to normal and no noises when disconnected from the 9 volt battery. To test this while the sub is plugged in to the amp but out of the box move the cone as far in and as far out as it will go. If it comes on while u hold it on either one of these positions but when released it goes back to not playing then the coils in it are blown or burnt and is no longer any good. As for selling the box its on you, aim anywhere from 2/3 to 1/2 the price you paid for it minus the speakers.

Subs and amp dont work

His amp probably blew your fuse. Check that you have 12V at the power connections. If you don't, then find the fuse in your positive wiring to the amp. If you do have 12V to the amp, check your remote power up also has 12V between that and the negative line when your head unit is on. If it doesn't, then it's probably an internal fuse in your remote switch on line inside your head unit caused by a fault in your friends amp. This is normally accessible at the back of the head unit.

My amp and subs work but the subs dont sound very loud. how do i adjust my Pyle PLA4340 amp and fix this problem

Hello polarisracin,

You need to bridge 2 of the amp channels to each 4 ohm sub to get the most power from the amp. Bridge channels 1/2 to one of the subs and channels 3/4 to the other one. But the amp is only rated for 75 watts RMS per channel and Pyle products are sometimes rated higher than their real capabilities. So, even bridged and with the rated output, you'll only be getting at most 150 watts from a pair of bridged channels. That's not much for a sub.

Hope this helps.
