Wrt160n shows offline

I would start by contacting your internet provider and having them ping your modem. If there is a connectivity problem, they should be able to help. You may also want to try resetting your router; and start again from a clean slate. Your picture shows that the modem is not connected to the internet, and your router is not connected to you modem.

My wireless internet on my WRT160N keeps dropping when I use Yahoo secure log in. Seems to infrequently drop at odd times, but I can definitely drop it every time at yahoo trying to go to paypal. ...

Try to reset the router for 1minute and then reconfigure the router. When you actualy do a firmware upgrade, the router needs to be reset so that you will not intermitent connection.

Connecting my linksys wrt160n router from my modem using the internet port i get no connection, but if I plug the modem into the ethenet port I do get a connection, why?

Are you trying to install the router.
You can do it manually without the CD.
MAke sure that your computer is able to go online through the modem.
If your computer is able to go online through the modem
Then you need to connect the computer to the router ad the modem to the router.
open the set up page of the router and change the settings of the router according to the ISP.

Hello, I just installed a new router, and it all

verify your internet modem it connected to the WAN port on your WRT160N, login to the WRT160N and go to the "status" tab and see what your internet status is. You should see a page similar to this:
moz-screenshot.pnghttp://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o64/arcticpaws/linksys.png
Verify your router has an Internet IP address. If it does not, then you haven't finished configuring your router. If it does have an IP address, then turn off your firewall and see if you can get connected that way.

Linksys router wrt160n unable to be detectd

If that is the case you must do a hard reset first. Hold the reset button at the back of the router for 30 seconds then unplug the power for 30 seconds and plug it back in. Make sure your computer is connected to port 1 and your modem is connected to internet port of the router. Try to set it up again.

Limited or no connectivity to the internet. my setup: the telephone port is approx 30m from where i need internet access. Originally I had a dlink wireless router set up but was connected via cable, now...

On which port of the D-link router did you plug the WRT160N router?

Do this setup.

Disconnect the WRT160N from D-link.

Connect a computer to port 1 of the WRT160N. Access the setup page by typing 192.168.1.1 on the address bar. you may need to type in the username and password for WRT160N. on the setup page Change the LAN IP address from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.2.1. save the settings.

Connect a cable from port 1,2,3 or 4 of the D-link router to the Internet port of the WRT160N. turn off everything then turn them on starting from cable modem>D-link >WRT160N then computer.

You should be able to access the internet.
