4 year old SxS Whirlppol Refrigerator Model ED25QF

There was a knob type of attachment on the top panel of my fridge (to the right of the knobs are for temp) that attached to the underside of the panel. The attachment has something to do with the EZ Filtration water & ice feature -even though the filter is docked bottom of the unit. The knobs attaches on the under side of the panel below the EZ Filter Indication lights. I removed the attachment and lost it ( to make a long story short) SO What is the attachment for and does it need to be there?

SOURCE: removing panel on side by side fridge...

It comes off just like you are doing- it snaps on, so it needs to pop off at those spots first. Please leave feedback.

SOURCE: water in bottom of fridge

Thanks to all who spent money or shared their experience to have somebody do this repair, and I really mean it.
I have a Whirlpool TopLoad Fridge (not a side by side).
Things you'll need
30 minutes
Small socket for cardboard panel on lower back and panel inside freezer
Bicycle Pump
4 Towels
Hair Dryer

1. Take everything out of freezer
2. Turn dials off in fridge for both compartments
3. Pull fridge out so you can get behind it and unplug it
4. Be vigilant of ice maker line if installed
5. Pull cardboard panel off on back
On the left side you should see the back of the skinny drip pan and a small line. That line goes from the freezer and is most likely clogged.
6. Blow dry the back of the freezer enough so the ice is thawed at the bottom of the back panel.
7. Remove the two screws on the back panel. You may just be able to pull it toward you enough to get behind it. You'll see the coils and fan, and underneath these you may see some ice sheets and there should be a hole. That is the drain line that is clogged. I heated up some water and poured it over the drain to thaw the line. You may want to remove the crisper drawers and put some towels down there to catch the overflow. Once the ice is thawed enough at the drain. Go to the back of the fridge and place the end of the bicycle pump at the bottom of the drain hose. Apply pressure to get a good seal but keep pumping. You may have to go back and forth between pumping and thawing, but you'll know it is clear when you hear air going into the freezer and then the wonderful moment when water drips into the drip pan as advertised!

Keep those fridges less full so that the door stays sealed and keep the seal clean and also keep your doors from having too much stuff so the weight of the door doesn't pull away.

Okay, put it back together, turn everything on and be careful of your cord and lines when pushing the fridge back. Thank the Lord ours has wheels and man,was it cruddy underneath. Vacuum those coils underneath the fridge too for proper air circulation.

Blessings to you!

SOURCE: ice machine isn't working

Two things come to mind.

First, the water valve at the bottom rear of the refrigerator may have failed. You didn't mention if there is a water dispenser and whether or not this is still working. This valve pumps water to the icemaker and water dispenser when the control unit of the icemaker calls for water. Also, there could be a blockage in the line which brings the water to the icemaker.

The other possibility is that the part of the icemaker controls which calls for water from the valve has failed. If this has happened, it would likely be more cost effective to replace the icemaker unit.

Testimonial: "Thanks for the advice! I have a service person coming out on Thursday to take a closer look at the ice maker."

I have a whrilpool wrf40 ix all refrigerator. I believe the tempreture sensor is faulty, because it freezes up. But i don't know where it is located and how to replace it?

The number you provided looks more like an item number then a model number. Please look inside the fridge and find the model sticker usually located on the inside wall either right or left top side and give us that number. whirlpool model numbers typically look like this "WRF540CWHW" and is needed to look up what you have. Digital controls usually have the sensor within the control panel but sometimes will have a rectangular box holding the sensor. if it has a mechanical knob then that knob is the sensor.

What is the plastic knob under the door hinge used for on kenmore model 7803 refrigerator?

Most modern fridges have these small plastic knobs [usually both top and bottom]. They are usually only COVERS for threaded mounting holes so that the fridge/freezer doors can be mounted for either left OR right opening ... ok They are generally around 1/2" [13mm] in diameter x 1/8" [3mm] in height.
They also help support the door [when it is closed] and prevent any "sagging" and/or mis-alignment or distortion of the fridge door which [these days] can be quite heavy when fully loaded.

I'm looking for a manual for a GE SxS Model G8622BLCC. All I need is to find out where the temperature control knobs are located for the freezer and fridge?

They're probably in the refridgerator compartment near the top either toward the front or back of the compartment.

Where is defrost timer location on fridgedaire mod # ED25DQXVN00

Your mechanical defrost clock timer is located in the control panel where the rotary knobs are for the ED25 model given which is a Whirlpool SxS, For the Frigidaire Mod FRS, your defrost control will most likely be located in the long housing running down the center wall (front to back) of the fridge near the outlet vent, this is an electronic adaptive defrost control. Remove back panel top. There should be 4 screws holding in the timer. Also the knob may have a small allen key screw holding it on.

I have an older side by GE refrigerator model # TFX24R. The freezer is fine, but the fridge isn't getting too cold. Any suggestions??

You may have ice formed in the passage between the freezer and the refrigerator. You have to remove the plastic panel in refrigerator side. (pull temp control knob straight off, then tilt plastic panel forward from bottom. Should come off with a little wiggling). Next remove one screw just above where the temp knob attached. this will allow the left half of the assembly to pull toward you. It will want to stick to the right side of the assembly (were the light buld is) so just gently encourage it to come out. Once out you will have a very simple device in you hand made of foam and plastic. rinse under warm water and get all the ice out of it. Dry it and put back in. replace parts in reverse order.

See if that helps!

Frigidaire SbS fridge FRS26ZGED3 intermittent - smacking helps

I have been looking over the wiring diagram for about 10 minutes. I see nothing other than the thermostat being the problem. I need someone to unplug the refrigerator and go into the control panel and disconnect the two wires going to thermostat and plug refrigerator back in and then give me the results. You feel comfortable doing that? Sea Breeze

How do i remove the water filter

The filter will come out attached to the cover .. look inside the cavity . there should be a space there for the filter .. the ones at the top of the fridge are quite small compared to the ones that go at the bottom on some fridges. Most appliance or building supply stores will have replacement filters on hand .. have your make and model number to get the correct replacement., or the old filter ..
