Picture flickers My monitor is flickering between different channels.
Lets say I am watching NBC, the top half of the monitor will all of a sudden flicker to a different channel, while the bottom half of the monitor stays on the selected channel. The audio continues to stay on the selected channel.
The flickering lasts about 2 to 3 seconds. I had this problem about 3 years ago, at the time it was still under warrenty, so I was able to get it fixed cheaply. If I remember correctly, the technician that came told me that it was the B board that went bad, and they just had to put a new one in.
Does anyone know how to fix this? Or where I can get this B board?
I got the technician to come and take a look at it, by that time the monitor refused to even turn on. When you hit the power button, all it showed was a blue swirl on the screen, no sound, and you can't switch between the different inputs.
They had to take it to their shop. Although they did get it working after working on it for about 2 weeks, they still couldn't diagnose exactly what was wrong with it.
I've had it back for a little over 3 month now, and it seems to be working fine... knock on wood.I got the technician to come and take a look at it, by that time the monitor refused to even turn on. Each video source, whether it be a PC or a set-top box, has its own video outputs that can wear out and break over time, causing the picture on your screen to flicker or otherwise become distorted. Try turning to different channels and unplugging devices from the TV to see whether the flickering is from one of the devices

Flickering can be adjusted. Type in the keyword "Flickering"; in the search box, at the top of the display window, to get gathered related posts.
If your LCD TV or monitor has stopped working, or is displaying one of the following symptoms, then it's a candidate for some new capacitors
- Flickering screen
- Screen image disappears after several seconds
- Dim screen
- Slow start
- Power LED on, but no picture
- Unusual colors and/or lines
The primary cause of LCD TV and monitor failure is caused by faulty capacitors. You can examine the capacitors in your LCD TV or monitor and actually see if they are bad.
If they appear bulged on top, then they need to be replaced.
New capacitors will solve a host of problems in LCD monitors and TV's and will extend the life of your monitor or TV by several years.
Check the cables, connectors and connections.
Take it to a repair shop.
if rebooting the monitor would do no good, try to get a spare monitor cable if the same flickering issue took effect. If it is so, then call your pc provider to repair your monitor..
Hi, I can't guaranty this will help the problem, but for a quick try I say its worth it. On the Desktop, right click to open Personalize, select Display Settings; by adjusting the resolution it helps with the "Flicker effect" aswell, by selecting different settings, you can "view" the best Monitor Display. "If the solution helped, rating it is appreciated, thanks."
B board = Part # A-1302-209-A fix by substitution......
check price and availibility..............B is a sister board mounted
to the A board (signal)........................................T.
If your DVD player is separate from your tv, you might have a loose cable plug or connection.
Depending on the type of flicker you have, a vertical circuit loose connection would cause this. If you could connect it to a cable or antenna it might tell you where the problem is located. A faulty circuit in the DVD might cause this too.
