SONY DSC-W55 flash error E:91:01
well i had the same problem, and i tryed everything, even opening the camera and see if any visible damage on any part (nothing), so when i try initializing again ( menu>setup>option #1), right after the "ok" over new reseated date, i went to the flash button and turn it off, and at least the annoying flashing error is not there - that means it is software error, because all flash functions work till it detects that has an error wile charging/loading the flash.
Hope it helps.

This E:91:01 indicate that the camera flash function is faulty.you need to replace the faulty flash unit. to get away the E:91:01 flashes on screen , what you can do is to do a factory reset follow by turning off the flash function.the screen will not show the E:91:01 and you can use the camera without flash function.hope it help.

How do you turn the flash on? (with the vivitar vivicam 8018)

Your camera has a built in flash function which enables you to take photos when the light condition is not good.

1. Press the Up button. (for reference of buttons, please see the below figure mentioned)
2. Press the Up button once until you see the icon appear on the LCD screen. This indicates that the flash is forced on.
3. Press the Up button again to change to the auto flash function.
4. The icon will appear at the top of the LCD indicating that the auto flash is turned on and ready to use.
5. Press the Up button again to change from the auto flash to the red eye function.
6. The icon will appear on the LCD indicating that the red eye reduction function has been activated.
7. To turn off the flash function, press the Up button again until the icon is displayed on the LCD.

Note: A “Low Power” message will appear on the LCD screen, if you select the flash function when the battery power is insufficient. To continue using the camera with the flash, please change new batteries

Camera fails to flash every time we take a picture

1.Turn off the camera.
2.Install a set of new or fully charged batteries into the camera. then turn it ON
3.Press the Flash Status button to scroll through the flash options until Fill Flash (the lightning bolt icon alone, with no other letter or symbol) is displayed. This forces the camera to use the flash. a86196b.jpg

Flash options for sony camera

I recently had the same frustrating problem. The top of the camera has a little black button that can change from continuous mode or single picture mode. It has to be on single picture mode to change the flash setting. After this is changed you can press the flash setting onthe dial and change the setting. I hope it works for you.

Flashing icon

Low shutter speed icon means that when you take photo the image will be blurry if camera moved.

Is there this icon when flashlight is turned on?

Flash icon

Same problem with the red flash icon. I can take a picture if I turn off the flash as well, but have to turn off the flash every time I open the lens. Have had the camera for 5 years and haven't had a problem. We needed to replace the lens cover recently and after we replaced the cover we started having this flash problem. It was working fine before the cover came off which leads me to believe we've changed our settings somehow....pleas
