VERTICAL WHITE BAR ACROSS THE LCD SCREEN

I had put the LCD on two different computers, the same problem exits. So I know that the problem is with the LCD. The vertical white bar is about 1/2 inches wide and is 4 inches from the border of the left side of the screen. Turning on and off the computer does not solve the problem.

    Thanks, Chadande.

When I connected the LCD to a different PC, I had used different set of DVI and power cables. Unfortunately, the warranty with Dell was already expired. I guess I have to get a new LCD.

Almost certainly the LCD panel has failed, and would be replaced by Dell if it is still under warranty. You can try to replace the VGA or DVI cable that connects the LCD to the PC. If the problem persists it is the LCD.

Vertical red lines no matter what input.

I'm assuming you're dealing with an LCD flat panel monitor.

If you've tried different input and from different computers and different cables, and you're still seeing vertical red lines, it's highly likely that the LCD is failing and there's not much that can be done easily to fix it. You will probably need to replace the LCD panel.

If the red lines are in different locations each time you power on, then it could be a controller board issue. But, if the lines are always in the same place, it's probably the LCD panel itself.

Green vertical lines across the screen.

Green lines on LCD screens generally means physical damage. Did you drop it or bump it by chance? Physical could also include the cable that you are using. Try using a different cable, or make sure it is connected all the way.

Check the main filter capacitors at its power regulator board. Replace if found bulged or damaged. Replace all secondary side supply rails' filter capacitors too. The fault is with damaged electrolytic capacitors at the power regulator board itself.

This problems are a very tipical of the coded pixels on the LCD screen panel passes through the board that call the T-CON decoder board to causing this problems.Vertical colors lines display on the LCD screen panel happen by itself.Yes.The T-CON decodering board it is dying and shorting out. This T-CON decodering board sit in the middle at the botton of the LCD screen panel.Replacing this T-CON decodering board will solved this problems,if does not the LCD screen panel itself it is shorting out, than the tv it is not worth fixing, because changing the whole LCD screen panel itself it is not practical and the cost will be the same as a new tv itself.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish T-CON decodering board for the replacement.

Relisys vertical bars

Sorry this wont help you much, but may put you out of your misery trying to repair it.
The LCD panel has failed. In particular the driver tabs that connect to the physical panel have failed and there is no way to repair them.
The only soloution is to replace the entire panel, a cost that would be close to if not more then a new TV of the same size.
I would put it on Ebay for parts (powerboard, logic board etc), and use the money towards it's replacement.

Continuous vertical white band display problem

What is the error from installing xp sp3?
Is the white band always there? it is either a problem with the lcd panel most likely, or the graphics card. try a different monitor if you have one.

Vertical white line near the left end of the screen.

Usually when there are colored lines on the LCD its because the screen is going bad. Quick way to verify this, try a different monitor on your computer and if the line goes away then you know for sure the monitor is bad.

If you try a different monitor and the line remains then you know that the video card is bad.

Two vertical lines across screen

This is a common problem when LCDs are subjected to strong shock. Your internal circuits are damaged The panel itself may not be cracked but there is internal damage. I know of no cure or repair possible other than to replace the panel assembly.
