Re: kensignton wireless mouse, connected but not working
My laptop is recognizing the USB wireless thing that came with the mouse. For about a week it was working fine. Now it reads the USB but when I move the mouse nothing happens. The cursor does not move.

First of all, I am assuming you are using a current laptop with USB connectors. For a corded mouse, insert the USB plug into a USB socket. After the computer recognizes the mouse, use the computer control panel software to set up the mouse. For a USB wireless mouse, insert the dongle into a USB socket. After the computer recognizes the dongle, use the computer control panel software to set up the mouse.
The GCS632U has keyboard and mouse emulation that may not work with all wireless combos. If your wireless combo is going to work the single USB connection would need to go into the keyboard port as that is the only port that will recognize the hot key switching commands. If the wireless combo still has problems then try using a USB wired keyboard to ensure the GCS632U is working correctly.
Well, it could be multiple things, software not installed, usb port is not recognized, etc. Try hitting the reset button on both the mouse and the wireless mouse adapter. And let me know if this works for you.
Hope this helps. Good Luck!
Does the mouse and/or keyboard have a "connect" button on the bottom of either? Try restarting your PC, then, if you have installed new batteries, and the mouse/keyboard is still not connected, try the "Connect" button if any.
Most wireless mouse are not plug and play. Try this:
Try disconnecting the Mouse Receiver from the
USB port and reinstall the CD software program. When
the program asks you to connect the MouseReceiver to the USB
port, do so and it should work.
Hope this helps. Bud
I have the same mouse and I had to install the intellipoint 6.1 software that came with it, and it worked flawlessly. Then I sold a few of them that I had and mixed up the dongles in the sales and now none of them work. Trying to figure out if I can force a recognition or are they proprietary to only one mouse. Go to microsoft and see if the intellipoint 6.1 is a download.
