Madden 09 freezes when trying to save on PS2

My Madden 09 game for PS2 freezes when I try to save anything. I can start a franchise, but then when I try to save it to memory card, it freezes while saving. I have left it for 30 minutes, and then have to give up and shut down. I can't even save my profile. That kind of ruins it if you can't save the game and advance in franchise mode to play a season. My NCAA Football 08 does the same, but all my other games are having no problems saving to the memory card. Is there a fix for this?

Try a new memory card or erase some that u dont use on the old one!

then theirs something wrong with your version, because my cousin's works perfectly fine. and his cousin has it for Xbox and it works fine. i would check the back of the cd see the scratches and if its damaged, get it buffed out or buy a new/used one.

After playing Madden 2009 on PSP, cannot find franchise to continue play. End having to start all over.

Problems playing in 2nd season of Madden 09 Franchise mode.
I think your lens may be very dirty. And alos please tell if the problem is only with this gamne or all the other games as well?
moreover, if your lens is dirty, you'll have to clean it using a lens cleaner, OR get it replaced lens).
I got my PlayStation's lens replaced when it was giving me trouble and all was fine after that.

Madden 2009 freezes between seasons in franchise mode
EA are working on a patch for both XBOX LIVE AND PSN. It is a known issue. propossed rollout for the patch is mid march im afraid

This sounds like you might have a dirty lens. clean your ps3's lens with any CD/DVD cleaner kit and then try to play the game again.

Madden 09
When I first started the game I think remember downloading a update. But I think it was a roster update. How do you download the up date?

This is a three man franchise league. When we got to week 17 of the first season and played our games, that was the last time the franchise would save. After reaching the playoffs playing my game the franchise would not save at all. It would freeze up. Then if you try to simulate the playoffs. It would freeze up. After playing with it we were able to get to the end, but when advancing to the off-season it would freeze up. Finally, figured out when we got to pro bowl to save it and it worked no freeze-ups. We were able to advance to the off season after that, did all off-season stuff and got to the preseason. Now when trying to simulate preseason it will freeze up. What the heck.

Ps2 slim madden 08 lag?
yeah, that happens on mine sometimes. IT happens on both the ps2 regular and my madden 07 for psp. I thin it's probably just trying to do too much at once, and slows down because the processor isn't powerful enough.

Erase all madden data from your memory card including network configuration and download the latest rosters and try again. The error happens when the rosters (between the two people playing) dont match and you try to connect online. Download the rosters and dont mess with them! This worked for me and i was getting a buzzing sound every time i tried to connect to a game online, i even went out and rented a another copy of the game, so definately a memory card problem.

How do i fix my ps2 memory card

Hi Andrew555,

 

You will see two screws or so that hold the memory card together.  open the case of the memory card, The circuit board is probably slid back and not being held forward so that it inserts fully into the card reader on the PS2. Sometimes, the retianer that keep the memory Circuit board forward breaks, and you will have to use your ingenuity to figure a way to keep the circuit board pushed forward.
