I was helping a friend do some home remodeling, and I was sweating profusely. My Verizon VC3 was in the pocket of my shorts. I wanted to make a call and noticed that it had shut itself off. Now when I try to turn it on all I get is the Verizon wireless banner that usually shows up on power up. It will shut itself off again after a few minutes, unless it's plugged in. When it is plugged in it gives no indication that it is charging or that any other activity is going on. I removed the battery and left it overnight hoping for a resolution, but to no avail. I put the battery from my wife's VC3 in mine, and nothing changed. I put mine in hers and got a message that the date/time needed to be set.
The date/time needed to be set is normal especially if it took you a longer time to put a battery back again. if you are having problems with the phone that is not charging and it's not with your charger or with the battery, ou are having problems with the phone. However, if this had been in contact with liquid like water or sweat, this can cause liquid damage on the phone. check if the the tiny round sticker at the back of the phone if it is white.
