Not sure what a drop cord is but a compressor will either run or not as the case may be. Power supply variations can cause failure but not tear it up. If the compressor is running noisey then unfortunately it will continue to do so until it stops. However it could be that it is a vibration of the pipes due to the move causing the additional noise. I would suggest having a look at the back of the cabinet and seeing if you can pinpoint a bit more precisely the source of the noise. Hope this helps.

My frgidaire chest freezer model # MFC07M3FW2 will not come on after short move. Plugged back in and light will not even come on

If your Frigidaire chest freezer is not turning on after a short move and the light is not even coming on, there may be a few things that could be causing this issue:
  1. Check the power source: Make sure that the freezer is properly plugged in and the outlet is receiving power. You can try plugging another device into the same outlet to confirm if it's working or not.
  2. Check the power cord: Check to see if the power cord is damaged or frayed. If it is, it may need to be replaced.
  3. Check the control board: There may be an issue with the control board of the freezer. Try unplugging the freezer for a few minutes and then plugging it back in. This can sometimes reset the control board.
  4. Check the compressor: If the compressor is not functioning properly, the freezer will not cool. You may need to contact a professional to repair or replace the compressor.
If none of these solutions work, it may be best to contact a professional to diagnose and fix the issue.

What kind of extension cord is safe to use with this freezer?

with the amount of power most freezers need to start up (1st five seconds) I don't believe a ext cord is the safe thing to use , as most cords avail to homeowners are not of enough size to handle this power , a hot cord will produce a fire and will shut off power to outlet (if wired properly) either of these will be no good for freezer, its better to move freezer to outlet or have an electrician add one to your new location (its not as pricey as u think it is)

Danby freezer

If it stopped working after being moved, check all the electrical connections. Also check no pipes were broken in the move. Is there any noise from the compressor?

Freezer not working

Hi,
  • Make sure the freezer is plugged in
  • Check for a blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker
  • Test the power outlet for voltage
  • Inspect the electrical cord for damage
  • Eliminate use of an extension cord, if any is being used
  • Check the outage votageIf power is reaching the electrical outlet, trace the freezer wiring and test components as you go. Either there is a short, which must be located and repaired, or the freezer has sustained electrical damage.
Thanks.

I moved my freezer and now will only stay cold for a short time, why?

You jard the liquids. Did you just move it a little or move like to another house because if you move a frig or freezer somewhere or lay on it's side you shouldn't plug in for an hour or more so it all settles or it won't work. Hope this helped

My brand new Danby compact chest freezer is very noisy. What is the problem?

It could be an area where the tubing is vibrating against the cabinet or it's touching other tubing. While it's running you can run your hand along the tubing and when you get to the vibrating area it should stop. You can then slightly move the tubing away from where it's vibrating. Do not bend or kink the tubing.
It could also be a noisy compressor which would be under warranty.
