Question about Apple iPhone Smartphone
Looking for a way to install SSH on iphone. The instructions on the web seem to be difficult and required some unix background. Does anyone have the same problems?
Open Cydia, and go to Section and then All Application. You will get Open SSh.

Here's what you get when you follow the link above: "You're an idiot! Don't trust Web2.0 with your iPhone! You'll lose everything" Then you are taken to a "flame site" that says other phones are better. Helpful? I don't think so. If you want to use SSH, go get a copy of "Unix for Mac" (ISBN 0-7646-3730-X) Wiley 2003 to figure out the Unix bits to begin your exploration of the iPhone. There are also several sites engaged in hacking the iPhone, many of which use SSH as a part of the process.

Nliwilson, "end users simply do not want/have the time to learn an OS in depth and why should they?" Thank you, it's about time someone said it! It makes no sense to advise end-users to lern *NIXes indepth when what end-users want is a solution they can understand without 2-3 months of self training, http://churchturing.org/w/iphone-ssh/ does take you to a secure SSH portal that does the job and is not a threat to your phone. Mac users are used to things just working & thats exactly as things should be, I know this can be hard to get your head around if your a Microstress Windoze user because you have absolutely no basis for comparison, but non-Microsoft OS's actualy do what they claim to without all the hassle and work involved in getting Windoze to do anythig all the way through. The point about security is well made, don't apply Windoze securty issues to an OS that actualy does what it's supposed to.
