It sounds like you have a couple of things going on here. First of all, the most common problems associated with a poor drain on a washer is due to clogs in the pump and/or drain hose. But first, make sure you don't have your drain hose shoved down in the drain standpipe too far. If you don't leave an air gap for the drain hose, this will often cause poor drainage problems and/or siphoning of the water as it tries to fill (this may be a cause for your soapy clothes, too). The drain hose should rest inside the standpipe so that pipe is not sealed and the hose is not sitting in the drain trap. You can check your drainage also by connecting a wet/dry shop vac to the drain hose and try to pull water through it from the machine. There will be some residual water that remains in the tub after washing. Just follow these simple steps: 1. Unplug machine. 2. Remove the lower kick plate under the door. There will be a screw in the bottom corners of the panel holding it on. 3. Find the drain pump. It will be on the right-hand side and is usually white in color. The drain hose from the bottom of the tub will be connected to it. 4. Remove drain hose from standpipe and connect a wet/dry shop vac (if you have one) to the end of it. 5. Turn vacuum on and watch the drain hoses from the tub and from the pump. If the hoses collapse, you have a clog somewhere. 6. Remove the drain hose leading to the pump. Check the impeller area of the pump for debris. This is usually where coins, clothing labels and other items get caught. 7. Clean out the pump and drain hoses. 8. When finished, reconnect any drain hoses that you previously removed making sure you get a good seal with the hose clamp BEFORE you fill the machine. If you notice a leak during fill, hit the "CANCEL" button to stop. Make sure you place the drain hose back in the standpipe too. Now...dispenser problems are usually the result of fabric softener and mildew. If you remove the dispenser tray from the machine and look inside the compartment on the front of the washer, you will notice a series of small holes in the overhead portion of the cavity. This is where water gets dispensed into the tray and flushes softener, bleach and detergent into your wash. If these holes get clogged, the tray will not dispense properly. Take a rag and clean this area thoroughly using some hot water. The water will need to be warm enough the melt any fabric softener residue that may have accumulated over time. Next, clean the area really good with some bleach solution to get rid of any mildew. You may have to use something to clear all the holes of debris. Often fabric softener is the culprit and it cakes the holes up. A simple wiping down with a rag may not be enough to do it. A cotton swap of tooth pick works great at cleaning these holes. This is also a good time to take the dispenser tray and soak it in some hot water in the kitchen sink to clean it out as well. Good luck to you and let me know if you find this advice helpful.

Clothes are sopping wet even after doing the spin cycle 3 and 4 times, water is going through hose fine it seems, it a front loader

Hi

This issue usually occurs due to kinked drain pipe, clogged drain filter or drain pump. First make sure that the drain is not clogged and remove clogs if present. If no visible lint is present then remove the lower front access panel to check the drain filter and drain pump for any clogs, you'll need to clean the drain filter and drain pump completely. Hope this helps... Please post back for any further assistance.

Kenmore HE2Plus White Front Loader. Drain pump seems weak, wet clothes, and f-21 flashing..???

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

F21 error code is displayed when the washer is unable to drain, press PAUSE/CANCEL button twice to clear the display. After this please check the drain hose and drain pump filter for any blockages and make sure it is not clogged with foreign particles. You can also check the drain pump to verify that its working. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

Clothes are still damp/soapy after spin. Some water visible at bottom of tub. Is this from too much detergent, or could it be something else?

if this is a front load machine you need to make sure you are using an HE soap designed specifcally for front loaders.

Washer doesn't run all the way thru cycles. It's

Removed hose connecting to water pump at tub. Removed clog (ink pen, coins, etc). Replaced and ran washer. Ran through all cycles - no leaking, no pausing of cycles. Problem is resolved.

My kenmore front loader wont spin fast. it will spin when the clothes are washing slowly but wont spin fast to get rid of the water so clothes stay soaking wet.

Check your drain and make sure it isn't plugged. If ok then remove the bottom panel on the front of the machine. Under it is the washer pump. The pump is either clogged or bad. The washer will not go into a full spin when the water isn't draining properly.

Cloth too wet when washing cycle complete

When a front load washer is not spinning properly (it is very, very hard to overload a properly operating front load washing machine) you have a problem that can not be solved easily. Besides making sure the washer is level and stable (no rocking on its feet), changing the controls on the front or making other adjustments will not fix it.

It will require a service technician to take a close look at it, open up the washer and possibly even listening to the machine as it washes, drains and (attempts to) spin.

I hope this information is helpful. I wish I had better news or more guidance.

Washer won't drain or spin

top loader ??? or front loader??? if top loader you have broken your lid switch, will fill, agitate, but when it comes to drain/spin for safety reasons if the unit doent recognize the lid closed it will not advance...if yo have a front loader then i would suspect that something has gotten into the pump assy and preventing drainiing of water therefore will not spin

Laundry

Same problem with my front loader. You have to make sure to clean out the rubber trap in the front regularly. it seems to collect alot of hair and plug the drain hole. also it helps to leave the door open when you finish washing to further reduce the stagnant water smell. Use fabric softener for the towels!

hope that helps.
