Water is not getting pumped through the machine

My dad gave me his machine which worked fine the last time he used it, about a year ago, but when I went to try it, no water was coming through the machine. I followed the intructions in the manual to a tee but nothing seemed to work. The machine makes a loud noise but it seems that water is not making its way through at all.

SOURCE: Pump Problem

Our lucky fix for this identical Christmas day problem was to put the reservoir in place about half full of water, then to reach down in it and pull the plunger up to open it. We had the machine running at the time, but that may not be necessary. regards, Gene

SOURCE: My Breville800ESXL makes steam but does not make espresso.

jejones is right. try a coarser grind. it still makes great espresso, especially if you really pack a lot of ground coffee into the filter basket. Just make sure it is a bit coarser than you would normally use for machines without the dual wall filter basket.

SOURCE: A lake of water

anyone else w/ this problem: cheap workmanship = cheap, malfunctioning machine. turn it upside down, unscrew the 4 screws w/ metal washers and the six screws with out washers from the base of the housing. once removed, you can see that cheap metal clamps are used around the plastic hoses which supply water from resevoir to steamer & brewhead via the pump. either length of hose above pump or below pump has come loose or pump is fauly or there is a hole in a tube. good luck!

SOURCE: Water flows fine until we put in the Filter Holder

The grind on the coffee is too fine, try packing it lighter or setting the grind coarser.

Run compression leak down test. At 300K miles, injector pump issue is possible, but unless you have done very regular maintenance, using good quality oil and filters, could be rebuild time.

ok few things first one is that if you are on 15 years of use you are well well over life expectancy a modern washer will last round 5 years so in my honest opinion id get a new washer, also u said your husband put a pump from a different brand in there, yeah not a good idea the resistance ratings and wattage is normally different for every brand which will cause it to do pretty much exactly what u described, if u do wish to fix it tho u will have to get a new genuine maytag pump and if that doesnt work your probably looking at a control board, how much have you spent on repairs over its life? cos if youve spent more than 500 bucks on it youve already bought a new washer, youve gotta look at the long jeverty of it like u could fix the pump problem then the next week the motor could die and u jus wasted the money fixing it thats what youve gotta watch with old appliances so yeah my honest opinion get a new one

The cofee maker my dad gave me wont make any coffee

You may need to run a pot of white vinegar and water (50/50) through several times to flush out the line and heater. Make sure that the plate under the pot is getting very hot or it won't pump water from the reservoir. Hope this helps!

Unfortunately it is not possible to make any estimates over the internet. As the warranty for the watch already expired years ago, there is no reason to find any particular Tag Heuer dealer. You can visit your nearest watch repair shop and ask for an estimate.

Queen marathon 20 years old does not pump the

If the motor is running then the water pump or the clutch to it has failed. If the motor is not running, the motor has failed. Both fixes are probably too expensive for a 20 year old machine. Unless you are very handy and resourceful it may be time for a new machine.

My 2003 Nissan Sentra is getting terrible mileage

Two possible problems

1 - O2 Sensor

2 - Mass air flow sensor(Most common problem on Sentra's)

Spend a 100 buck and have a nissan dealer check it out for you as they would have the tools to check the sensors correctly

Water pump problem

I would just replace the whole pump. you could rebuild it but they never seem to last that long with a rebuild. espressoparts.com should have them for between 70 and 100 dollars. its been a while since i bought one but i remember them being relatively cheap. do you use a water filter? it will extend the pump life quite a bit
