you probaly have to replace the battery thats actully inside the tablet itself

sounds like you may have a bad flexible cable that goes from the main board to the monitor. you will have to send it to dual to get it repaired.

I haven't had to use duals monitors with Linux yet but if this doesn't work let me know and I'll run some tests as I can easily set this up at work (we use the same computers and similar cards).

the ati chip is not so good dual monitor so please use nvidia for dual monitoring

What program are you using for the dual setup? Place a shortcut in startup. usually an external monitor is used in place of the laptop LCD.
