For this and any other print jam problems try this;
Open the scan bed tray and push down the button at the front (scan bed tray open switch)
I found if your print jam occurs and you go through this procedure, the jam clears itself.
With the tray still up and switch held down, try and print something.
See how far the paper goes through the print cycle before jamming. If it jams when it reaches the print head...clean under the print head and try again.

Hope this helps

SOURCE: I cannot get the Samsung CLP-310 color laser

Printers are only able to use paper that is within their thickness threshhold. Simply put, the stock you are using is too think for your printer. Try getting some thinner paper and see if that works

SOURCE: after setting the paper type to card stock to thin

This happens to be one of my least favorite printers.

Here is my suggestion:

Open up the cover and remove all 4 of the imaging units (with the toner cartridge). Also, remove the Fuser. While removing them, look for any bits of paper that may have gotten missed while clearing the jam.

Replace all of the items above and see if the printer still has a paper jam. It shouldn't.

Since, I assume you are manual feeding the card stock (the lower drawer doesn't allow for card stock to be used), look at the manual feed opening. There should be a small metal piece about 3" wide and less than 1/4" thick. Make sure it's attached properly. Ours unseated itself and is continuing to cause manual feed issues. This can be fixed but requires a good portion of the printer to be opened up to reseat the little metal piece.

Hope this helps.

Duplex printing with card stock paper jams in back on Brother MFC-9840CDW

I would try manually inserting the paper for the back side. Most of the time it's best to wait a few minutes before trying the back side to give it time to cool so it will lie flat.

Paper jam

You are receiving this error message because there is a paper jam or the top (photo) tray is not securely in position and the printer cannot initialize. This error message can appear for an ESP 7, ESP 9, ESP 7250, or ESP 9250 all-in-one printer.
To resolve a paper jam, we have an easy Step-by-Step Solutions and Repair tool. Within the tool, select All-in-one printer, then Paper jam.

When you clear the paper jam:
  1. Make sure you open the paper output tray and inspect the top tray for photo paper that could be jammed inside or that remains in the nip at the entrance.
  2. Pull out the bottom paper tray and clear any paper jams.
  3. Remove the duplexer from the back of the printer and clear any paper jam.
NOTE: Curled photo paper could induce a paper jam. To prevent curling:
  • Store un-printed paper in a tightly closed plastic bag or in its original packaging.
  • Store sealed packages of paper flat, and not on
  • When you are ready to print, take only the paper intend to use immediately.
To remove curl in photo paper:
  1. Place the paper in a plastic bag or in its original packaging.
  2. Gently bend the paper in the opposite direction of the curl, then insert it into a tube-a paper towel tube works well.

NOTE: The tube should be larger than 1.5 in. (4 cm) in diameter.
  3. After a few minutes, remove the paper from the tube.
  4. Remove the paper from the plastic bag or packaging.
  5. Verify that the curl has been removed from the paper. Repeat the steps above if necessary.
If the top paper tray is not securely in position and the printer cannot initialize (you may hear a grinding noise, and the top paper tray will not open), contact Kodak.

When trying to use the scanner to make a copy of a document. The paper jammed, how do you remove it? It said on the glass window to remove the back where the ink containers are. I did that but I cannot see...

There are possible 2 places for the paper jam, either the Feeder has jammed or from the input tray.
For Feeder, you just have to open the feeder from the top and see if there are any pieces sticking in.
Else, you can open the print head cover and look for pieces of paper jammed in it.
Another place you may see is by removing the rear of the printer, it is called a duplexor which can be taken off easily. You may find some bits of pieces in rear of the printer.
To avoid getting another jam, try to keep the paper in a cool and dry place. If the paper absorbs any humidity, it starts crumpling which results in paper jam. You can also try fanning the papers before putting in a bunch and use a recommended paper for the printer.
Hope this helps.
Cheers...

How do i load card stock paper in my copier...it jams.

Hi,

card stock is tricky to run do you have a bypass tray this is not a paper tray it is a tray where you can put 1 or 2 copies of paper in it? It is on the side of the copier if you have one try that.

Good Luck

Carriage jam

Normal 0 I suggest you get a sheet of Card Stock (Heavy paper) and place it in the feed way. Then press the print button applying a slight amount of pressure on the Card Stock so it will feed through the printer. The reason for this is in some cases I have been able to clear the paper track of debris that was deposited there over time.
Worth a try, as I have fixed a number of printers this way, saving costly repairs.
Hope this helps. Bud

Repeated paper jam in fuser

Fuser's orange roller is not meant to be wrinkled, if this is then I would recommend you replace it (just slides out) pic below
b4eead5.jpg If printing on card, you need to feed via manual bypass and exit from the back, not on the top, aka the "face up tray." Tray pulls out from rear. Rear tray will only stack a few card sheets at once.

Setting on printer's control panel must be set to card/heavy paper type on manual bypass tray

Their may still be some card in fuser causing jams.

Please rate as FIxya or post back,
Cheers
S. :-)
