Re: phillips 60'' projection hdtv wont turn on
Question do you see green led or light when pressing power button? If you can also listen for a high pitch noise coming from back of set. This would be an indication that the set has powersuppy problem or high voltage problems. If the set is dead and no noise then maybe fuse or open circuit.

hi, fist of all try to reset ur tv. to reset do the following. Turn on the TV. While holding down the up arrow button on the remote control, press the POWER (on off switch) button on the TV. (The TV will turn itself off, then back on again.) Release the up arrow button.
If the TV is completly non-responsive (ie not even a flicker of light on the power button) then one of the first things to check on this is the fuses - easiest being the right corner next to where the power cord plugs in (have to take off the back panel)
Yes its the convergence ICs. You will need ywo STK392-120 ICs and about six of the 6.8 ohm 1watt metal resistors to repair the issue. You can get replacement ICs and resistors at the following link and they will provide free instalation instructions with pictures so you can easially do the repair yourself and save about 400.00. Here is the link. http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/
It sounds like its had it. Sometimes it might mean a bad powercord or that the powercord went out on you.
Is your set DLP or is it just regular CRT rear projection? If its DLP or DILA/LcoS you should check to see if the lamp has imploded.
p.s. you can always check the batteries in the remote to :) maybe they need to be replaced?
