On some of the newer cars they still will have a foam seal around the perimeter of the tail light that will be very difficult on removal. Do you think you have all the screws removed? If so, try putting some pressure on the tail light, with one hand on one side of the light and one hand on the other side. Not to much pressure just enough to see what is holding it in place and preferably near the corners and work your way around. If you have a hidden/missed screw this will show you without damaging areas.

I have a Honda civic 2002. Do you know where the brake light relay is located? Thanks!

Brake light relay, don't think there is one for the brake lights.

My 2001 honda civic brake lights won't turn off after the car is shut off. I can I turn them off so my battery will not die???

You can pull the brake fuse (See owners manual). Sounds like your brake light switch is out of adjustment, or bad. (Located on the upper part of the brake pedal arm)

Brake lights on 2003 honda civic not working even after changing fuse

Was the fuse blown? Its unlikely that all the brake lights went out at the same tme ,but check them anyway. Does the shift lever come out of park? It may be the brake light switch. -hope this helps

Honda civic ex 2001 parking brake light stays on then goes off

Replace rear brake pads. If that doesn't help, remove the plastic console around the parking brake lever and adjust the pull on the lever. It's probably so loose that it's trigger the light.

This is not normal, looks like someone accidentally drove several miles with the brake on.
