It sounds like its had it. Sometimes it might mean a bad powercord or that the powercord went out on you. Is your set DLP or is it just regular CRT rear projection? If its DLP or DILA/LcoS you should check to see if the lamp has imploded. Good luck. p.s. you can always check the batteries in the remote to :) maybe they need to be replaced?

Hello! Your tv controls the volume if it jumps up to 60 after moving down it may be interference with the TV's remote sensor. Has anything changed i.e. new lighting ? Try calling Emerson at: 8002562487

Magnavox 42 LCD 42mf438b/f7 turns on/off by itself

Mine was doing the same thing. Update the firmware and it fixes the problem. Updating the firmware is done by downloading the file to a thumb-drive from the phillips product support page then plugging in the drive into the side of your television and turning it on. See your manual for slightly better instructions.

Turned off by itself and never came back what part will I replace

If the TV is completly non-responsive (ie not even a flicker of light on the power button) then one of the first things to check on this is the fuses - easiest being the right corner next to where the power cord plugs in (have to take off the back panel)

Power turn off after 45 minutes to 1 hour used

Check the "Sleep Timer" settings. If set to 45 minutes then TV would automatically turn itself off 45 minutes from being turned on. The variance in the "on" times is due to the TV turning itself off after not getting a signal from the remote for fifteen minutes.

Good luck,

Tv turning on and off itself

Try "hiding" the remote from the set so that the TV cannot "see" it. Hope this little trick helps...accordianman

Phillips 60'' projection hdtv wont turn on

Question do you see green led or light when pressing power button? If you can also listen for a high pitch noise coming from back of set. This would be an indication that the set has powersuppy problem or high voltage problems. If the set is dead and no noise then maybe fuse or open circuit.
