The hum you hear is the drain pump trying to get the water out of there, but it can't for one of two reasons. 1.) It's jammed by debris (pillow stuffing material, underwire from a bra, etc...) 2.) The pump itself has failed. UNPLUG THE WASHER! You'll need to remove the three screws that are located below the bottom front panel. (Do this easily by leaning the machine backwards toward the wall and propping the 2 front feet up with a brick or the 4" side of a 2x4) These screws are star shaped, called "Torx" screws, size #20. After you have those removed, pull the panel downward and pull out from the bottom at the same time, then set the panel aside. Mounted to the floor of the machine near the center is the drain pump, see the hose coming out of the bottom of the tub and into the pump? That one will HAVE to be clamped off before you continue. Use 2 open end wrenches and a pair of vice grips... use the wrenches to pinch off the hose and the vice grips to clamp the TIGHTLY into place. Now remove the drain trap cover. Rotate the hand grip counter-clockwise several turns and pull it toward you. (*THERE WILL BE SOME WATER COME OUT EVEN THOUGH YOU HAVE THE HOSE CLAMPED OFF. HAVE TOWELS READY) Use a flashlight and your fingers to inspect the pump area, remove any debris you find. Make sure it's COMPLETELY cleared out. Then re-install the drain trap cover next remove your hose clamps. Plug your machine back in and set it to "spin only" and engage. You should hear the pump fire up and water being evacuated. Is so? You did it! Rebuild everything. Job time= ~45 minutes. If not, you have a bad pump and it should be replaced. The part # is 280187 and list for ~$115.00 at your local appliance parts retailer. Good luck! Please post back.

Have a whirlpool washer that now hums when I turn the cycle on, no water just a hum

I had a similar problem - had to get a technician out - there was a valve at the back of the machine that allows the machine to fill. It had split (apparently its a common problem? there are separate valves for hot and cold water, so I'm not sure if using a different cycle choice (ie cold only), may let the machine fill?). 10 minute fix job

Kenmore washer model 12502100 goes into rinse cycle fills with water turns then stops. won't drain just stops hear humming or buzzing noise.

Try to put it on rinse on another cycle, like normal, heavy duty or delicate. If it works, then your timer is probably bad. If it doesn't work then maybe the pump. Best of luck

Kenmore front-load washer stops at rinse cycle

When the washer initially fills for the wash, is it only hot water entering the drum? Try switching the water temperature between hot and cold as it fills. If any of them show little or no water getting through, it sounds too easy but check to make sure water supply taps are on, and that the cold/hot fill hoses aren't reversed. Remove the fill hoses and check any of the screen filters for blockage (in the hoses and in the inlet water valve). When the machine stops and waits to fill but all you hear is a hum, it sounds like there is power going to the valve but water is not able to get through it.
Good luck!

Loud humming noise when dishwasher is filling up with water

your model is pretty new. just so you know your warrenty is 1 year parts and labor. 2 years on parts. it should not cost that much money.

there are two components that start before the circulation pump.(wash noise you hear)

first sounds you hear will be the drain pump. usually rattling noises if something is in it but it can make a hum noise if something is jamming the drain propeller up. which is accessible with a T20 torx driver. take the filters out and the mesh filter. and unscrew the screw in the base towards the left. pull out whatever is lodged.

the other humming sound can come from the next component that activates is the watervalve. make sure you dont have a kinked water intake line. otherwise its a bad valve. i have had to change a few of those water valves out already but not for a hum noise on your model. you have a new style water valve. when brands make new parts we get problems fast sometimes..

Bosch Next Pemium Washer-intermittent detergent dispensing cycle

Hi.
Sounds like the valve that lets the water in on the dispensing cycle is sticking, if you can hear the valve buzzing i would certainly suspect it to be faulty

Washer keeps stopping during any cycle

the humming noise could be from two sources and it is worth while doing a few simple checks first the drain pump is jammed with a foreign object. check nothing caught in the impellor second water not available - check taps turned on. also turn water off, undo fill hoses, put in a bucket and turn water back on try on drain or spin programs to check water drainage as well
