You have to choose the right INPUT on your TV where your DVD player was connected. If your using the Yellow/Red/White cable from your DVD player you need to choose on your TV the input Example Video1 Video2, etc... If your using the COAX,(like cable wire) Put your TV on Channel 3 or 4. Hope this may help you. Please post the outcome, if you need further help. Is this TV is a COMBO?

How to get dvd on tv

There are generally 2 ways to connect a dvd player to a tv.1 If you have 3 rca connectors on the back of your tv (they are color coded yellow for video and white and red for audio left and right channels respectively) and the same connectors on the back or side of the dvd player.Use rca cables to connect the dvd player to the tv,connecting yellow to yellow white to white and red to red.Using the remote put your tv on video.Put the channel selector on the dvd/vcr player on video or L1 or E1 (depending on what brand dvd/vcr you have).2 connect a rf (coaxial cable from the rf output of the dvd/vcr and connect this directly to the rf (antenna) input to your tv.Put the tv on channel 3.Play the dvd/vcr to see if you have the video. If not put the tv on channel 4.Some dvd/vcr's put their signals out on channel 3 and others on channel 4.Good luck.

Tying to hook-up my 1100 dvd player to tv I have the three cables white yellow and red audio out to audio in on tv. the recoder plays but no picture. is the a certain channel i should be on?

The connection should be the cable box out to the DVD in, the DVD out to the set. The DVD should have a channel select, Either 3 or 4- set it to the channel that is not used by the cable decoder. which should also have a switch for 3 or 4.

Then all you do is switch between channel 3 or channel 4 with the TV remote or by TV channel buttons. One will be cable, the other will be the DVD.

What channel or setting is used on the TV to play a DVD?

Hi, Channel 3 or 4 might work for older TVs. Most new HDTV's have a mode setting in the menu. (Video 1 or 2 or 3) or (Component 1 or 2). On your remote you may have DVD button. Try all these suggestions, 1 of these will work. You can play with the remote too. Good luck.

I need to know what channel to operate my wii on. I have a toshiba tv that is about 8 years old.

Try changing the TV inputs to VIDEO or AUX, using the remote or a button on your TV. If there is not a way to connect the Wii to the TV using the 3-cable system (Yellow, Red and White), then you might have to use a VCR or DVD player to plug the 3 cables into and then transmit the audio and video from the Wii using the regular cable line of VCR or DVD Player on TV channels 3 or 4. If your Wii has a regular TV Cable jack on the back, connect that to the jack on the back of you TV and select channel 3 or 4.

Auxillary channel for dvd

You need to determine what output options your DVD player has. Take a look at the rear of the player. It will certainly have RCA jacks for video and audio outputs (yellow for video, red and white for right and left channel audio). It may also have RCA jacks for component video (marked Y, Pb and Pr). Finally, it may have a threaded connector marked "out to TV" or "antenna out" or something similar. This is called RF output.

Most players today don't offer RF output because nearly every TV has direct AV inputs available. If your DVD player has RF output, connect the output connector to the TVs antenna input. You need a coaxial cable with F-connectors on the ends. One may have been supplied with the player. RF output is on channel 3 or 4, set by a switch on the back of the player or by its on-screen setup. Just set the TV to that channel to watch a DVD.

If your player doesn't have RF output, you connect it to the TV using the AV jacks. You need cables with RCA plugs to to connect the video and audio from the player to the TV. Then you switch the TV to its video input to watch the DVD.

This is where you might run into problems. Many TVs need the original remote control to switch inputs. (Some older RCA sets used channels 90, 91 and 92 to switch to their video inputs so any remote would work, but these sets were made before 125-channel tuning became standard. If your set is one of those models, those are the auxiliary channels you heard about.) If you can't switch the set to video input with front panel buttons and you don't have the right remote, you're not completely out of luck.

If you can't use your set's AV inputs or it just doesn't have any, you need an RF converter. These cost around $15. They take the audio and video from the DVD player and convert it to channel 3 or 4. Then you hook that output to your TV as described above.

Need instruction to hook up dvd player

You will need a TV or monitor with audio/visual inputs. The better ones have what is known as an S/VHS input, which separates the TV picture signal for better color reproduction. You will need to be able to switch your TV, usually by the channel selector, to the proper input for audio visual signals. Sometimes this is known as Video 1, Video 2, A/V etc. These are usually below Channel 2. Maybe your remote has that option. You will need an a/v cable. This is a three-connector cable with RCA plugs on each end. Connect the DVD player to the TV as follows: 1. Yellow cable, from video OUT on the DVD player, to video IN on the TV. Video is ALWAYS yellow. 2. Red and white cables from audio OUT on the DVD player to audio IN on the TV. 3. If you have S/VHS capability, buy an S/VHS patch cable which will have the three plugs mentioned, plus a round 4-pin plug. Select S/VHS OUT on the DVD player, and S/VHS IN on the TV. When using S/VHS, ignore the yellow connector. It is for composite video and not needed. Here's a hint: Your YV audio/visual inputs will usually be on the back of the set. Some better units have a/v inputs in front. What if my TV doesn't have a/v inputs? If your DVD player as an RF output, connect an RF "f" cable from that output to the antenna in cable on your TV. Otherwise buy an RF converter (about $20 or so at Radio Shack). Connect your a/v cable (yellow, red and white) from the DVD player to toe converter, then connect an RF cable (like the kind your cable box is connected with) to the antenna input on your TV. This signal usually comes in on Channel 3. Let me know if your problem is more complicated, It seems like a lot of wires and connections, but it is really straightforward, Remember, yellow is ALWAYS video. The two audio cables can be connected without worrying about color.
