Mitsubishi ws-55813 horizontal hold

Set will not hold horizontally. Can power off the set and and the condition clears but returns after a while. Is there a horizontal adjustment that can be made or is the a service call?

You can see the picture but it is broken up. If it is the video circuit is it worth replacing or after 4 years?

I have the same issues where the picture doesnot hold. When I first turn on the tv, the picture is ok but after about a minute, the picture scrambles. (broken up) multiple images of the same. for a while i was able to turn off and back on several times and the images will hold. but it's happenning more frequent and finally last night, it image just would not hold, it scrambles. like the horizontal hold is not holding.

When you say horizontally, do you mean it collapse or it scrambles. Because the 2 are different problems. If you pictures shrinks or collapse then it is in the vertical circuit. and if it scrambles itself almost like you can see the picture but it is broken up over and over again, then this is video problems in video circuit. Yes I really think so, I can tell you a possible fix to your set, only if it comes and goes. If this is the problem. Then if you look on your signal board there should be what we call a crystal, this can look like a silver small can with 2 legs and it is usaually by a big Microprocessor chip. sometimes it's yellow in color, but any ways you can take regular hot glue and cover the crystal which may say on it 33.33Mhz or different. What is taken place is that the signal going out is too close to the processor and causing a scramble picture. If not your problem can't hurt your set.Just remember saftey first. Unplug set

Hello
The power supply starts ON and suts down immedieatly, means there is some short circuit with its main board. In most cases Horizontal output section will have the shorted component/s. You must ahve knoledge in electronics, and experience in troubleshooting the horizontal output section of your set.

My mitsubishi projection tv, ws55813, was losing horizontal sync intermittently, turn off and back on, sync was ok. turned off and back on, once too oftern, to solve sync prob and now I have blue screen....

There is a hard reset you can try on this set--it is done with the Mitsubishi remote that came with the set.

Confirm actual model number and I will tell you how to try it. The set will shut off after the reset(not the reset button some of these sets have on the front) and come back on channel 3 in the air band--any labels for inputs will be replaced by original input numbers etc.

No guarantee this will fix your problem but it will return the set to the condition it was when new in the box.

Let me know if you want to try this.
