Re: Mitsubishi ws-55813 horizontal hold
When you say horizontally, do you mean it collapse or it scrambles. Because the 2 are different problems. If you pictures shrinks or collapse then it is in the vertical circuit. and if it scrambles itself almost like you can see the picture but it is broken up over and over again, then this is video problems in video circuit. Hello The power supply starts ON and suts down immedieatly, means there is some short circuit with its main board. In most cases Horizontal output section will have the shorted component/s. You must ahve knoledge in electronics, and experience in troubleshooting the horizontal output section of your set.
There is a hard reset you can try on this set--it is done with the Mitsubishi remote that came with the set.
Confirm actual model number and I will tell you how to try it. The set will shut off after the reset(not the reset button some of these sets have on the front) and come back on channel 3 in the air band--any labels for inputs will be replaced by original input numbers etc.
No guarantee this will fix your problem but it will return the set to the condition it was when new in the box.
generally this means a bad digital module.. as a techinican the first thing that we would check are what is know as standby voltages. if they were there we would replace digital module.! question. Does it blink for more than 70 seconds. This unit comes with a lockout feature. to unlock press and hold menu down for 10 seconds on front panel.
does the light blink for more than 70 secounds? if it does go off after 70 seounds the keyboard lockout feature may be engages to unlock press and hold menu on keyboard for 10 secounds. If the set contiunes to blink after 70 secound after plug in then you maye have power issues or a possible bad digital board
