Greetings;
I have been a proud and satisfied owner of the Soundspace 8 for a long time now, but I have developed a problem with the CD mechanism.
There is a disc in the player and I cannot eject it with the on-board button or the remote. The unit will not play any disc either. Radio works fine, as do other inputs (e.g. Aux), so it is not an audio problem - appears to be a electro/mechanical issue of some sort.
I have tried a cold power restart (unplug unit from wall) to see if it would run through its POST routine, but that did not change the behavior.
When I choose the disc buttons (1,2,3. etc.), the green light is on in the "one" position, but pressing 2, 3, etc. changes the "1" position's light to orange instead of changing discs to position 2, 3, etc.
When I press play, the status display changes to a "play" arrow and when I press the stop/eject button, the play arrow disappears (which tells me the control panel buttons are at least mechanically functional. However, I hear no play or spin-up of the disc and when pressing eject the blue dust cover light does not illuminate and there is no sound from the mechanism (it doesn't even try to eject the disc, it is just unresponsive).
The dust door does not respond to the eject command either.
Any help or direction appreciated.
Thanks and best regards;

Get a new CD unit fitted. My repairer in Australia could not sort out the problem. Only solution a new unit - only problem was the new unit developed the same problem in just over 3 months - outside the warranty period!
I am looking for a new/replacement one now

its a very common problem with g35 in dash clarion cd changer head units. a small plastic gear gets worn or brakes and wont eject or change cds. you need a new one, should be covered under your warranty.
check your power cord, check your 9 prong relay cord from power amp to deck unit, check your fuse that is in a little slot in the plug itself, most importantly check the 9 prong plug to the control unit itself, if you are mounted on the wall it could easily come out enough to not make connection. these units will take alot of bad voltage errors, if the only thing not working is your cd player you should still be able to eject it, if not it is power related, if it will eject but not play then your drive band is broke and unless you are very very mech minded take it to a repair shop who is nach. refered just look online for service try my ideas 1st you might get lucky, I hope I am right!!
You probably have problem with central sensor on CD mehanism,it may be dirty,its doesn't give information when changing discs and unit "things" that you press OPEN.It can be very tricky do fix because you have to dissembly whole CD mehanizam and if you are not good in it its better to find a good service
Hiya - I don't think it is a mechanical problem (no sound or change happens when pressing eject).
