Logitech Harmony 890

I have lost ability to control functions on cable box. This happened overnight. I notice that the RF light on the Logitech Signal device is not lit...could this be the problem? Is there awy to re-start?

My remote says I need to install the RF Enhancer...???? What is this, why is it coming on now and what do I need to do to correct this issue? I cannot change the channels until I do this. HELP!!!!

Remote is not working the equment, but it will turn tv on and off

Is the rf extender plugged in?

If so, press the connect button on the rf extender, and then go through the process of connecting to it with the remote.

I have a logitech Harmony 890 remote. The battery

To check to see if your device is controlled by a RF (radio frequency) or IR (infrared) remote:

Power the device on manually

Cover the front of the original remote that came with the device with your hand

Press any button on the remote that you know the device would respond to normally

If the device responds even when your hand is covering the front of the remote, the remote is RF and the device cannot be controlled by the Harmony remote

Another test that can be performed is using digital camera:

Using any digital camera, even one on a cell phone, camcorder or webcam, look through the screen of the camera at the front of the remote

Press a few buttons on the original remote

If you see flashes of light as illustrated, the remote is IR and the Harmony can control it. If the remote does not flash, this original remote is an RF remote and the device cannot be controlled by the Harmony remote

For comparison, try the same steps with a remote control that you know is working correctly, such as the original remote for the TV, or DVD player. You should see the IR emitters flashing when performing this test.

Harmony 890 Pro will not pair with Xbox360

The RF signal is on the XBOX is used for the controllers only.

When using the Harmony 890 with a 360, you will have to use it as an IR (infrared) device. That is the only way to use a remote with the 360. If you have an extra port on your RF extender, you can place the end on the remote senor on the 360 (located under the eject button).

I set these remotes up weekly, it is a product I recommend to people all the time!

But again, the only way to setup a remote with the 360, is to use the IR port as a standard IR remote. Since the controllers run off RF, the learn function will not work, unless you already have 360 remote control to use to do the learn function.

Need a manual to know how to use the various menus on the remote

The Logitech Harmony 890 remote control is programmed through the
Harmony Windows Setup Software.

Once installed, you will simply run the program and select the devices you would like to control from menus. This program finds the right codes for you and loads them into your remote control.

Logitech harmony remote 1000 not operating CBus lighting

Is there an IR receiver (or if using the RF extender, IR eyeballs connected to device and the RF extender) that you are pointing at to control the CBus lighting? If not, there is no way to control it. The Harmony 1000 will only communicate with the RF extender through Zwave, so you can't communicate with other Zwave devices, like you can with the Harmony 890 for instance.

this sounds like it is a hardware issue, try contacting Logitech through e-mail from the website www.logitech.com and sending an e-mail in.

try the following before contacting them:
1. Log into the Logitech Harmony Remote Software on your computer
2. Click on the Downloads button at the top-right corner of your screen
3. Click on the Firmware button. Follow the onscreen instructions to upgrade the firmware on your Harmony remote
4. Once the firmware upgrade is complete, click on the Update Remote button
5. Test your remote.
If this doesnt work, provide them with the following to make sure the process goes as smooth as possible:

The PID of the remote:
The P/N of the remote:
The PID of the RF Wireless Extender:
The P/N of the RF Wireless Extender:
Full Name:
Phone number:
Street:
City/Town:
Country:
Zip/Postal Code:
