Have you install the driver first before connecting it? Check out the Device manager entries if showing any yellow mark?
Goto start --> Run --> type in there --> devmgmt.msc this will open up the Device manager.
Check it and let me know. Have a nice day

The connection on the rear of the hub should go to a USB connection on the laptop, not a PS/2 connection. A PS/2 to USB adapter is used to connect a PS/2 keyboard or mouse to a USB connection.

My dynex usb hub is not working

You need to unplug the power adapter from the wall, and disconnect the usb cord from the PC/laptop for at least 30 seconds. Then plug everything back in. Apparently this model suffers from static electricity from time to time. I have this hub also and it works every time.

I just bought a Loigitech Premium 4-port hub but it does not work on my computer. I have a Dell Inspiron 510m laptop of about 2002/03 vintage. when I first plugged it in I got the message (something...

First go ahead and plug the hub back in and see if the ports are working. If they are not. I would try to go into control panel and then goto system and then hardware and then Device Manager. Scoll down to the USB Connection Field. See if they are any explanation points in yellow over any of the devices in the usb connection fields. If there are, Then its a driver issue. I would right click on them and click uninstall... Once doing so you can right click on any field and then click on scan for hardware changes. This will make the computer re scan for the USB Device Hub that you just purchased.

Note: Currently there doesnt seem to be any drivers availible for this device for Windows Vista.

Hope this helps

Installing USB Hub

After installing the USB controller card into a PCI slot inside your computer, connect the 4 port hub to it with the supplied cable. (at the back of the computer)
Do not connect the DVD Recorder to the old usb ports. They will still work, but obviously not 2.0.

Connecting the power supply for the hub is optional, but usually a good idea.

If your computer still doesn't recognize the hub, make sure you have all of the latest windows updates and try running Add New Hardware in control panel. Also, just unplugging the hub and plugging it back in will sometimes work. Use a different port on the controller card if necessary.

As a last resort, you may need to disable the onboard usb controller through your system bios.

My Laptop does not recognize Belkin 7-Port USB Hub(F5U237v1)

Try connecting it to another port or the one on the dock since some devices can be a bit picky about what port they get plugged into.
