Question about Crosley Cr6001a Turntable
Hi, IK've just received the CR6001A as a gift and it is my first record player. I've set up the playert as instructed, but when I put on a record, I hear the first 4 or 5 seconds before it starts to skip. No matter where I place the stylus on the record, the problem persists. The player is on a level suface (the floor). the needle looks okay, but as this is my first player, I'm not quite sure what to look for. Sound quality is fine! Hope someone can help!
You need to apply more pressure to the stylus. This is done by adjusting a weight on the other end of the arm. See your manual for more details.

it sounds as if the rubber belt is to slack however also worth checking ithe attachment to the spindle itself is not loose 2make sure the belt is the correct type

you have unscrewed the suspension screw?
also check the needle for dirt and dust... try blue tacking a 5p coin to the top on the needle to give it a little more weight, if the needle stays in place then the arm balance if off, and unless there is a mechanism to adjust that on this turntable then i guess its a return!

This happened to me tonight. I had the same problem, to activate the player on you need to move it to the right until you hear a click. If you don't do it it won't start. Even if all the power is on. This should fix everything!
