Will the Intel D945GNT motherboard run Windows 64 bit OS, and will I need to change the RAM. At present I have Two Transcend 512 MB DDR2 Mhz modules on it. Please advise. Thanks.

Trying to run W7 64 bit with only 1gb of ram will make the system really slow. I suggest you purchase 4gb of PC5300 (667mhz) of ram which will cost about £30. Your system will then fly compared to what it is doing now.

My Mother is Intel D945GNT with Intel D Processor. Ipurchased it in 2006. From that time till 2007 it works properly. After that there is hang problem comming, and during hang also the display became hazi...

The onboard video chip is dying. Since it's a part of the chipset, it might be also dying. If you're lucky all you need to do is to add a separate video card, disable the onboard video and your problem will go away.

Intel Desktop Board D945GCNL HD Audio Controller 5605 Windows Vista(32/64)/XP(32/64)/2000
Installs the Realtek audio driver version 5605 for Intel® Desktop Boards.

IMPORTANT: Audio drivers may fail to install in Windows* XP 64-Bit Edition. Symptoms may include error messages, such as "Error in installation" or "Unknown error". Microsoft's Update for Windows XP x64 Edition (KB901105) fixes this issue. After installing this update, the audio drivers for Windows XP 64-Bit Edition will successfully install.

Vista compatiable

intel doesnt list any vista drivers for that motherboard on there site so you might run into problems with the intergraded devices such as the ethernet, audio, chipset, & any intergraded video

You might be able to use the xp drivers but if theres problems it wouldnt be supported by intel

Audio driver installation failed from mother board cd

The most common solution was this: open device manager click "system devices" disable "microsoft UAA bus driver for high definition audio" uninstall "UAA bus driver" make rescan devices (Note: Not all had this step. You may want to skip it.) D.W. install realtek driver the realtek driver includes the UAA driver too.Hope this helps.

HD Audio Hardware

Hi, To be able to help you on what audio driver to install, pls specify brand, model and version of your motherboard. If not printed on the MB itself, maybe you can check the info on POST or visually check the audio chipset on the mobo. Pls post back the info/details. Kind regards.
