My problem is that the intel945 audio driver in windows xp2 shows a error while installing. The Driver version on the cd is Realtek HD Audio driver R1.66. The setup proceeds almost till the end , but instead it says " Install Realtek HD Audio Driver Failure " and exits immediately.

I have the same problem. Checked the BIOS (been there many times in my life) and sound is enabled. XP won't recognize it thought.
The sad thing is, it was working. Support guys took the box away and "reinstalled" with a saved image that probably does not match my computer.

Hi fnshman is correct about the area where you will solve your problems, you will need to press the delete key several time at bootup to acccess the bios. if yiu have further trouble following the directions given then go to the intel site and you will find a comprehensive list of drivers and instruction pages all downloadable free. There is a specific page for the 945 chipset family, you will find everything there.

You have to access the BIOS and turn make sure it's turned on. When the computer first comes on, it goes in to POST mode. During POST, you hit a key, like del or F1, to access the BIOS settings. If you've never been in the BIOS settings before and aren't sure what to do in there, be careful to only change what you need to. Some settings can cause your computer to not start. Now, the first screen will have a list, "Standard bios features", "Advanced Bios features", "Advanced chipset features", "Intergrated Peripherals", ETC. Click on Intergrated Peripherals, then look for onboard audio and make sure it is "enabled". Only change that setting and don't go browsing around the other settings if you don't what there for. Then click F10 to save your changes and the system will reboot automatically.

I have already done this but this doesn't work. I already enabled onboard front and back panal audio. That is the basic and doesn't work.
