Is looks like a problem with the zooming mechanism. Press the power button on and hold it down while extending and twisting the telescopic zoom lens. It might fix your problem. In any case it could not make it worse Good luck!

Optio ls1000 pentax - the lens cannot be opened it says lens error 1511 or 1211 ? please help

The lens error is due to failure of the lens control system. You can remove battery and card replace battery and while switching on tap the lens hood on your hands so as to disengage any dirt or mechanism being struck.
Use some air to blow between the lens to dislodge any sand particles struck inside. If none of these works then you can think of taking consensus with the service centre as it canbe failure of the control/drive unit.
get estimate before you decide. It will be good to have it checked at the Pentax service as you do not have to run around for spares.

For my sony DSC T10 fucussing problem is there snap taken in camera look dull when it is displayed sysytem monitor

Hello

The problem is that the lens has become stuck in the barrel after dropping it. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.

Use these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.

Firstly , try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.

Try holding the shutter button while switching on the camera.

Look at the lens , and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).

Try gently pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.

Another way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the camera is enough to get things going again.

Try hitting your camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of your hand.

Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair center for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to replace the camera.

If it is still under warranty I would suggest you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.

Hope the advise is useful.

Pentax optio t10 when camera switched on/off lens makes clicking noise lens does not go into home position when camera switched off. Also when camera switched on the picture is out of focus.we like the...

Pentax did not support this model well, you would need to get a new lens unit - very costly.
I would suggest you upgrade - Sony sell similar slimline cameras with touch screens.

Have a faulty Pentax, lens comes out beeps then goes back in, in addition the screen is broke. Is the lens problem related to the screen.

The lens problem is NOT related to the screen. A broken screen will not affect the lens, and you can still take pictures even with a broken LCD screen. The lens problem is either a bad lens assembly or a bad main board. It is almost always a bad lens assembly. I can replace the lens assembly AND LCD screen for a total of $85, or Pentax will do it for about $180. In my opinion, it is not worth fixing. If you want to sell this camera, contact me at: mrfixitmark at comcast dot net
I can use this camera for parts.

I've purchased a second hand asanuma autozoom 70-220 which fits ok but wont take a picture and has an "F" on the screen. I have a new Pentax k2000DSLR

Assuming that you have an Asanuma lens with a Pentax K-mount, does it have an A setting on the aperture scale?
- If it does, you will have to adjust the exposure with the thumbwheel and perhaps the Av button pressed.
- If it does not, then you have to go into the menus [custom setting] and set [uses aperture ring] to [Permitted] and then play with Manual mode.

If you have a screw-mount lens and an adapter, the procedure gets more complicated - and if the lens does not have an Auto/Manual switch then you are stuck with full aperture.

Blurry pictures with Pentax K1000

Hello,

It may be the equipment or it may be the way you are holding / taking the picture.

Here are suggestions on how to take better zoom lens pictures (this also applies to any camera) before you start diving into the equipment.

1) Use the fastest shutter speed possible. This reduces the amount of time of exposure, this limiting the amount of motion blur that can happen.
2) Don't hold the camera by hand. Either use a tri-pod or rest the camera on something stable, like a wall, rock, bench, etc. This makes it less likely that the camera will move when you are taking the picture, thus reducing motion blurr in the image.
3) If you have to hold the camera by hand, hold the zoom lens with your left hand (because it is more towards the center of gravity than the camera is) & try to slow your breathing & take the picture between heart beats.
4) Also, another thing that helps is to use a remote shutter release (such as that rubber bulb or plunger attached to the shutter release). I would also say using the self-timer would help, but the K1000 doesn't have that. This is so the camera doesn't shake from you pushing the shutter release button.
5) Make sure the lens is clean! Even get one of those lens pens from your local camera shop.

If you have tried all (or most of these) then its time to start looking at your equipment, such as . . . is your shutter getting stuck when exposing, thus lengthening the exposure and making for a blurring shot or do you need glasses? <grin -- which is why I find it really difficult to use manual focus equipement now, because my eye sight is really bad!>

Take care & Happy Imaging!

Pentax Optio T10 turning off immediately

My optio t10 did basically the same thing...turned on, lens goes out, then automatically shut off. I took the advice of a solution listed here for another problem...hit the camera. For whatever reason it worked.
