Check your TV settings under Caption, odds are someone adjusted the captions to text1 or 2.. the box should go away after you change that to off or std cap.
I have a large black square obscuring the picture. You can see the picture in 1 inch border around the black square. If I reset the input switch, the black square disappears for about one second (the picture is momentarily perfect) and the black square appears again. It is not the cable box because I wired the cable directly into the tv. The same thing happens when I try to play a DVD. Any insights????
the closed caption is probably on. look on your remote or in the tv menu for cctv and change the setting. there are at least four different types of cctv and you may have to cycle around some to find "off.
Try goeing into your Menu and see if you have the closed Caption on
that will produce a black box on the screen if you have the owners manual look in there,if you don't have it you can go on line and download it from the manufactures website under Downloads
Good luck Walter Grzybowski
