The projector is 1 year old. Shuts itself off while running. First time I thought it was the bulb, but following replacement the same problem occurred. Now, on startup, it will shut down three or four times before finally starting up. Once running, it stays on for between 15 minutes and three hours. Projected image is perfect when running.
The projector has not been moved, or damaged. The dust filter is cleaned regularly. Mounted upright, fan is on high setting as I live in a warm climate (Brasil), though I am not always certain the fan is actually running. Since qualified repair shop is likely out of the question here, I am hopeful I can fix this myself.
If you cant hear the fan running it isnt. While this unit has a quiet fan believe me you will know if its running during normal operation if you listen for it. This would explain your constant shutdownds.
Check the manual if you have it or on line. The symptom you are describing may be a built in warning that your bulb has reache 2700 hours. I think there is a reset process and then at 3000 it goes out.
Spent today reading the manual because I have one and the red lamp light is blinking. I called Panasonic and found out the only place that services these units is in Leawood Kansas USA> The place is called Heartland Services.

I'd recommend checking the fans of the projector, and make sure that they're spinning. Since you've mentioned that the lamp blew inside the unit, bits and pieces of the lamp might have lodged itself within the fans. It might also have to do w/ the after-market replacement bulb, which I normally wouldn't recommend.
Hi, First of all check the remove the lamp and check the same. if it found burned you have to replace it. Remember one thing you have to reset the lamp hour After replacing the lamp. You can see the option in the menu. resetting procedure. 1. inset the new lamp. 2. power on the projector. 3. Press menu and select OPTION. 4. Press enter button and the select LAMP RUN TIME. 5. Press and hold MENU button for 3 seconds. 6. Lamp reset , power off message will display. 7. power off the projector. this will reset the lamp hour.
the lamp cooling fan of your projector. may be its has some problem. its
not running at the correct RPM. Do
one thing, Remove the fan from the projector. In the fan there will be a
specification sticker. Remove the sicker. now u can see a hole in the
center. its the bearing part of the fan. put one drop of oil in it. u
can use any type of lubricating oil. rotate the fan leafs with finger
for some time. after that re-stick the spec sticker. insert the fan in
the projector. power ON the projector and watch. ok
I have the exact same issue with my projector and was wondering if anybody has an idea what the problem/solution could be? Have checked all internal connections, wiring, etc. but nothing is physically wrong with it. Powers on and off with no issues; bulb is working but no light out of the lens. Please help!
I have a 3 yr old AE900U dont know exact hours but prob at least 2000 hrs. about every other start up, the projector would flash little box; (replace lamp now). now a month later lamp wont come on. So this is prob the normal way a lamp will die. anything else might be another problem.
