You could check and see if anything come between you and the mic on your phone, if you can hear them clearly then you mic(part you talk into) may be clogged by dust, dirt, water or just defective.
You may alos consider that most cell phones have "Voice Cancelling" software. So the more ambient noise around ou, the less 'loud' you have to talk. If you talk too loud, your phone might think that it's ambient noicce and it may try to cancel your own loud voice. Try speaking in normal tone and maybe a bit farther from the phone. If that does'nt help, your mic may be full of grime or... (spit?) or food! See if you can clean it without poking it. Sometimes, a can of compressed air can do the trick.

I have verizon, had the similar problem. Call *611 speak to someone in tech support, and have them send you out a replacement phone. If your closer to a store you can do the same thing, don't have to wait for the mail ha ha. Good luck though! Hope I've been of some assistance!
I'm pretty sure it isn't any result of the "Get It Now" message you received. My EnV did this same thing, so I returned it and got another one. Shortly after, this one did the exact same thing. At this point, they had to have a new one mailed to me.. and guess what? This one MAILED to me broken. I was activating it over the phone, so I had a phone to my ear, and dialed the activation number on speaker phone with my new EnV... not realizing at this point that speaker was the only mode that worked for me! However, a half an hour later when a phone call came in, I couldn't hear anything going on. I thought I just had bad luck with EnV's.. but maybe they just aren't as great as everyone thinks? But, yeah. For this, they often just give you the new phones free because it's a manufacturing problem. You'll have to take it in.
ok so i have an env phone myself and just today that same thing happened to me. i could only hear my ringtones if someone would call me or text me but i couldnt hear them and they couldnt hear me. so what i did was just closed my phone and on the front of the phone there is that clr button in between the send button and power button and i could hear that lady start talking so i just kinda went up and down on the options. and now i can hear people and talk to them so just try that and hopefully it works for you.
I would suggest returning the phone to verizon for replacement, if you are still under the 1 year warranty you should have no problems with a replacement.
