My ps2 slim 90006 series can't play orig dvd movies why?

you need to have a modded ps2 to play pirated movies which are not official copies if you are using an original dvd copy then try keeping a weight say a small mobile charger or a small book on the ps2 if you are using the slim ps2

simple ask a person at a tech store if the ps2 slim plays movies if not it dosent if it dose ask them how to fix it or go to Sony's website.

Your laser is probably on its way out -- as a laser starts to fail, it will first stop reading PS2 games (but will read some DVD movies OK). It will then stop reading DVD movies and only play CDs. Put in an original PS2 game, not a copy

get ur ps2 modded then u can play pirated/burned games.

This may be because DVD movies have a reigion code on the disk and on a pirated disk this code may be removed. When the ps2 fails to find the code, it aborts playing the disk. I believe the regional lockout for games (which i assume you have disabled) is a different system to DVD lockouts.

I needed to get the CD with the remote control in order to play songs and movies. There is a CD you buy that you can download onto your PS2 slim and afer you do this, you should be able to play movies, music, etc.....
