Hi, Based on your post/description, yes you have to download updates for the Pinnacle Video capture card to be able to use it in Windows XP. There are a number of updated files for this device but the most important are the rob_a and the rob_v.sys. To facilitate, allow windows to download from the internet the needed files. Technically not really updates but XP compatible drivers and libraries since soon as you install the card, XP will recognize it as a controller card. Also the software in the original CD installer will not run in an NT/XP environment. I am using InterVideo WinDVD as the capture software. I have two of these units currently installed on 2 separate PCs, one with a TV tuner and no problem so far on either under Windows XP Pro SP2. Good luck and pls post again should you have further concern. Kind regards.

If the driver works in win xp there is no need to upgrade the driver. On the other hand if you need the driver for xp it is here : http://members.driverguide.com/driver/detail.php?driverid=84546

These drivers at the link are for win xp. http://members.driverguide.com/driver/de...

It is better to download the driver, so you'll always have it, with updates you must relay on an external site. What if it goes down?

Benimur you are just confusing Adrija needlessly.
Adrija does not need to know individual system files required for the driver when, they are contained in a driver install.

I have got a pinnacle pctv 110i internal card. I recently installed windows 7 and ever since i can't get the pmc to work.

When upgrading operating systems, the very first thing to do is check your hardware ... I do not have 7 but I have been around since Windows 2. Every version of Windows since 95 has said to check your hardware first. Later versions have made it easier ... to the point you can have your computer evaluated by Microsoft, (and others) the result being you get a report of hardware and software you may have to upgrade. I presume you have not done this.

Microsoft has a complete list of hardware and software that is Windows 7 compatible. I suggest the first thing you do now, before you go looking for new drivers, is review this listing. You will find it here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/default.aspx If your device is compatible, it will be on the list. If there is a new driver, you will get instructions on how to get it. If it is not listed, there is no readily available cure - you will have to upgrade your device. You can, of course, visit the site of the manufacturer of your device. In my experience, they will tell you the same thing as you will learn from the Compatability list. The benefit of visiting the manufacturer is they MAY offer you a deal on a upgraded product.

Good luck with your search. Thanks for your visit @ FixYa.com today.

THIS DRIVER DID WORK WHEN: 1.IT WAS INSTALLED ON WINXP. THEN 2. WINXP WAS UPGRADED TO VISTA 3. VISTA WAS THEN UPGRADED TO WINDOWS7

Search the video cards website for Windows 7 compatability..they may not have a windows 7 version of the driver available yet.
