Upgrading my Dell Inspiron 8200 laptop

Hello,
Can anyone tell me exactly what on my laptop can be upgraded.
I am currently running winxp pro with 512 mb of ram, an ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 video card, and a P4 2.0 ghz processor. I recently replaced my original hard drive with an 80 gb seagate hard drive. I understand I can actually put 2 gb of memory in my laptop but wanted to verify this claim. Any help with this question would be greatly appreciated. If I can upgrade any of the above parts, what is the best parts to get and where is the best places to get them or do I have to go thru Dell?

Hi.The maximum amount of memory that u can upgrade it to is 1GB.U can find the service manual with all the required information : http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/ins8200/en/sm_en/index.htm .
Specification option will tell u about the memory upgrade.I would suggest contacting Dell because they had good deals for memory with even lifetime warranty.Dell is Great

How can I upgrade/improve the capabilities of my Inspiron 1200

The best and quickest improvement is to add more RAM. Add another 512 Mb of RAM. If you already have a 512 Mb of RAM module then add another 512 Mb RAM module. If your laptop has 2X256 Mb RAM modules then you need to remove these and insert 2X512 Mb RAM modules.
The reason why you have 504 Mb RAM is that the video card has grabbed 8Mb of RAM off the main memory.

Can I upgrade ram of my Dell inspiron1545? if yes, to what extent can I?

Yes, you can upgrade RAM of your Dell laptop. When you are upgrading purchase a RAM which is compatible to you laptop (or you may buy the same RAM but the speed are fast). I think 2g to 4g is enough RAM to run to your laptop.

Problem with my Dell Inspiron 8200 Notebook system speaker - no driver was installed... Thus, there is no sound coming from my system speaker at all - I have to use headpone all the time. Dell's driver...

I was just on Dells web site and they do have the sound driver for your laptop on there. I could send you the driver if you want or you could go there yourself and download it. I just typed in dell.com, click on support, click on drivers and then click on laptops, inspiron, then 8200 and it brings up all of the drivers for your laptop including the sound driver. Let me know if you have any trouble with it.

Dell Inspiron 8200 ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 Green Screen Problem

Try connecting an external monitor to the laptop. After your computer is attached to an external monitor, press the <Fn> key and the <F8> (CRT, LCD) key to switch the video image to the display. If the external monitor works, the computer display or video controller may be defective.

How to upgrade a Dell Latitude CPX - Intel P3 500-650 laptop

I have a CPX H500GT. To get it to run XP Pro to run right, max out the ram. And get a larger harddrive. Xp uses a substantial amount of space.
