New tom tom device

UNFREEZE Tom tom sat nav USING WINDOWS OR MAC PC

This will unfreeze your tom tom after exhausting every avenue this works!

You will need Internet access.

Ensure you have the correct tom tom desktop softwear installed on your computer for your tom tom device.

If not then download from tomtom

Removed sim card from tom tom located under sticker lower end of tom tom.

Carried out on a windows laptop with windows 7

(Note this should also work on mac although I did not get to try it and it is stated you will need rosetta on intel macs)

Ensure you download the flash tool for tomtom (clear_flash.dmg) for your operating system windows or for the mac VERY IMPORTANT YOU HAVE THE TOOL DOWNLOADED FIRST.

connect tom tom to computer

find the tom tom on your computer and select all the files

you can firstly copy these to another location or separate drive before deleting all files.

Now delete ALL the tom tom files

Format your tom tom to FAT32 if using windows (im not sure of the mac settings yet)

Keep your tom tom connected to your computer

Run the flash tool and Flash the tom tom memory with the tool.

Restart your tom tom
It will update (but this time it should work!)
Select done after update
Tomtom reboots (restarts)
It may ask you to install a new update but there may not be any update to install just
Select yes to update.
Eject tom tom from your pc by selectinglower right corner symbol.
Now unplug device if ejected correctly
Congratulations your device should now work again.
Note I did not replace my sim card as it is not required to work the gps.

My device does not keep its settings What should do

To register your nuvi you will need a mini USB cable to connect the satnav to your computer. The cable should have come with the satnav so if it's possible to go back to the seller you might be able to get one free. Otherwise you may already have one as they come with many other products e.g. External hard-drives for computers, some cameras, some camcorders, some mobile phones (cell phones) some printers and many other devices that connect to the usb port of your computer.

needs the driver sounds like to me

what is your OS? XP or higher Os dont require driver for your USB, but if you are using XP then a problem on your driver, reinstall your board driver

connect your tom tom to the computer and go to tom tom home and you need to download new updates for it and that should fix it.

Try doing a device update while connected to tomtom home, if that doesnt work backup your device onto your commputer and try reinstalling the software and maps ect onto your device.

Try the foll.: connect Tom Tom to computer using UBS lead, download update for your model from Tom Tom site-I'm no expert, but this worked for me.

I saved the map on to my computer from the tom tom in Tom Tom Home and installed it on to a new SD card and now it working perfectly. I bought a 2mb SD card for £6.70 put it into a card reader and connected to computer and installed map and it gave me the instructions to put into device (Tom Tom) and switch on to connect then off and back into card reader to finish. Then I disconnected device which is important to do by the way put the new Sd card into Tom Tom and it is workink perfectly. I hope this help others who have problems.

what are you trying to do? connect it to the computer?

if so try a new usb cable. if that dont work look inside the female ubs jack on the psp make sure all the pins are there. see if it wiggles any.

you might need to replace the ubs port on your psp. which is a soldering job.

DO YOU HAVE A MICRO SD CARD? IF U DO PUT IT IN THE PHONE AND USE THE USB CORD TO TRANFER MUSIC USING WMP11 AND SYNC UR MUSIC TO THE DEVICE BUT ALWAYS REFRESH THE DEVICE MAKE SURE U FORMAT THE MEMORY CARD IN THE PHONE KEEP TRYING IT WILL WORK IT DID FOR ME.
