All monitors will work on any pc/mac computer.
The only concern might be how old is the monitor (low resolution) connected to a brand new computer (high resolution). But it usually auto adjust at windows boot up.
Check the VGA connector (blue) or DVI connector (white) for the monitor matching the pc tower
Are you running DVI or AGV? Try swapping from one to the other if it possible. Is it a possible resolution notifier? My old LCD did that just to tell me what is what. Annoying as hell but I couldn't turn it off. I can suggest turning the resolution down a level. See what happens there. Or possibly the refresh rate.
