There is a large pink circle in the middle of the screen, a blue ring around that, and then a green ring around that one. What is wrong with this thing?
It sounds like you have a warped shadow mask in your picture tube if your set uses a picture tube. A shadow mask is like a screen wire that lets the three color guns shoot electrons to their respective phosphor dot on the screen to produce the three primary colors which are mixed properly to produce the scene that is being shown. In other words you have a bad picture tube. Stargazer

Is that what it is? The black and white seems fine--you can see the picture, the color is just goofy.

I seem to have the same problem. I've read the solution below... Does having a bad picture tube mean the whole TV is a write-off?
