In the top right hand and bottom left hand corner of the screen the color seems to be distorted. It is most noticable with blues. The color seems to turn a yellowish brown color. Is the projection tube going? If so estimated cost? Is it worth fixing or should I purchase another TV.

Your convergence is fried go to ebay and order this item number 130475189383 copy n paste and put in ebay search.You will also need a delsolering iron, a soldering iron, some kind of skill soldering and patience.
Have you tried the "Magic Focus" Button/Option in the Menu Setup Screen? If you have and it still is there, You Have a Burned out Color Tube. It is Cheaper to Throw it away and Buy a New one.

You have a Convergence problem. Most likely the STK392-120"s are bad and possibly a few resistors. Not something you should attempt if you've never done one. I would recommend calling a service co. in to repair it.
You have a convergence problem. Here are some of the most common symptoms.
Screen looks 3D One or more colors can't be adjusted when when using the convergence menu. Screen is bowed in but stationary.
Solution: You need to replace the convergence chips and convergence resistors. Check the site www.TvRepairKits.com. They have put together a kit for your exact model. The kit inlcludes a photo instruction guide, original Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors, etc. Everything you need to fix it yourself. Its an easy fix.
i was just working on a set with the same problem .. i found a east west correction curicit with a falty transistor. something in that cuircit has failed.
