FMNOT32 I have used fmnot32 for years on Win XP as my calendar. It won't install into Win7, so I copied all files from my old XP computer across. Fmnot32 now gives me the error message 'Cannot find product or version info' so I am presumably missing a file. Can anyone tell me what it is so that I can find it on my old computer and copy it over? Thanks.

Thanks Dan. I have already tried the compatibility issue, to no avail. It seems that the installer in CreataCard 3 is 16 bit, despite FMNOT32.exe being 32 bit, and it won't install on a Win7 64 bit machine. Broderbund have laost support of this software some year ago, and no longer list it. There is a registry entry in Creatacard 3 (Micrografx.reg) which I have used to add the program to the registry. The program FMNOT32.EXE now starts, but reports 'Cannot find product or version info', so I am still missing one file. Thanks anyway'ma

Copying the files will not necessarily work, certain registry settings etc will not be established. you may try to install the program (CreataCard Gold 3) using compatibility mode and check if it can be installed. Access the link below and follow the steps to manually change the compatibility settings and install the program in compatibility mode and check if it helps. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Make-older-programs-run-in-this-version-of-Windows
If the above steps do not work I would suggest you to contact the program manufacturer to verify if they have any updates of fixes to install this application on Windows 7.

SOURCE: Is it possible to install / import old PrintMaster 7.0 Art Discs?

When you put the Program install disk in follow the prompt but instead of selecting the "Typical" instalation select "Custom". This way the install will instruct you to select the two or one or none Art cd.s. I assume your copy of Printmast 17 Platinum has all 4 cd's?.If not then you will only have installed about clip 950 art etc. instead of 19,000 plus when you install the Art disk 1&2.
The only drawback is that the two art disc's add another 1gb to the hard drive usage.
I hope this helps.

SOURCE: As I am loading my copy of Printmaster 16 Silver,

Make sure you dont have ANY anti-virus, ad-ware, spy-ware software running. Ive found that Broderbund products do not like them running in the background while installing. If youre afraid of internet viruses, just disable or unplug your network cable while installing.
Sometimes running in safe mode, may correct this problem also.

SOURCE: I cannot save a calendar as a pdf file. I get the

When your want to save your file as .pdf extension, you have to select a "virtual printer" from your "Printers & Faxes" when you install the software you are using to save as pdf file.

If you select your physical printer install on your PC, the error message you mention will appear.

Hope it helps.

SOURCE: I have used Cratacard 3

Hello. The problem is that you purchased that software for a particular operating system and now you have changed operating systems. To get up and running again, you must get a new "driver" which will work with your createacard 3 and you windows 7. Go to Broderbund.com/drivers and select the driver you need. This will be a free download. J.

Windows 7 will not recognise vdr-m70 dvd camcorder

Panasonic supplied software for the VDR-M70 for Windows 98 through XP on the CD. Due to changes in the OS over time, the installer can't run under Windows 7. Panasonic has not updated the drivers for Windows 7 and Microsoft indicates that it is not compatible with any version of Windows 7.

There are work-arounds depending on your version of Windows 7. If you have the 32-bit OS, try using the compatibility mode. To find out which version of Win7 that you have, click Start > Control Panel > System and Security > System. If the name of the OS ends with x64, then you have the 64-bit version of the software. Otherwise, you have the 32-bit version.

For the compatibility mode, right click on the installer on the CD (browse Computer). Choose Properties and then click on the Compatibility tab. Select Always Run this program as and an older version of Windows (XP). Apply and Save your changes. Then right click again on the installer and choose Run as Administrator.

This may not work (and won't work for the 64-bit Windows 7). If it doesn't work, you need a machine with an older version of Windows. This can be a second computer, a dual boot computer or a virtual computer (if your hardware supports virtual computing). For most options, you will need a licensed copy of the older version of Windows.

If you have Windows 7 Pro or Ultimate or upgrade to one of them, you can have a virtual version of XP for free. Download and install Virtual PC and XP mode from Microsoft in order. Then install the software for the camcorder in XP mode as if it were your only computer. (Of course this doesn't help if your hardware doesn't support the Virtual PC.) Other virtual computer programs are VMWare and Parallels.

Note: you can not directly share files or hardware between the Win7 and the virtual computer. You have to put files on an external drive (optical, flash drive or other external hardware) to share them.

I hope this helps.

Drivers HP scanjet 4400c for windows 7

This worked for me:
Do NOT connect scanner before these first few steps
1. Download & save win xp drivers from HP website: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=28447&prodTypeId=15179&prodSeriesId=28441&swLang=8&taskId=135&swEnvOID=228
The 63.4mb file is the only one you'll need
2. Right-click on the saved file and go to its properties. Under the compatibility tab, set the file to run with win xp service pack 3. Apply changes and close properties dialogue.
3. Right click on the same file and choose 'run as administrator'. Accept any windows prompts that may appear and let the program & drivers install.
4. Once the software has finished installing, connect the scanner to your computer (via USB) and turn the scanner on.
5. Restart the computer without unplugging or turning the scanner off.
6. Your scanner should now work fine with the HP Precisionscan Pro utility.

My computer just started misbehaving this evening; 1. Task manager just got disabled without me disabling it. I tried enabling it through 'run', but i got another error message saying registry...

Yes the probable cause of this was a missed behaved anti virus program. Formating your computer and installing a new operating system would work, but there is still one option to perform. Why not try to repair your xp installation instead . If you run your xp operating system setup disk, At first you will be prompted to repair or install a new operating system, then press enter to install a new os. After pressing f8 it will search for a recent xp installation . select repair and leave the current file system intact no changes. But if you really want to change your operating system XP to Win7, yes it will work with your computer, but the softwares and programs that you'll need will also have to be compatible with win7. The most important thing here is your computers drivers installation. If you have your computer drivers installation cd, you could proceed. Have a nice day .

Unique customer Registration for MYOB Plus 11 I used MYOB 7 for years, and it worked all the way up to Windows 7 - now it won't even start. Its time to leave. I have a copy of MYOB Plus 11 that seems to...

Or, just get a version of windows 7 (look for "Windows Anytime Upgrade" on your computer) that can run a virtual XP machine (Pro or Ultimate versions), then download and install the virtual PC hyper-viser kernal and the XP Mode virtual machine.

Next, install your old copy of MYOB 7 into the XP mode virtual machine, copy your data files, and it should work....

EXPLANATION OF "WHY": MYOB 7 was actually meant to run on windows 95/98 machines, and this wasn't a problem in XP, because it could run a program that would basically emulate all of the win95/95 API's, under which MYOB 7 could run. Starting with windows vista, those old API's and emulation programs were basically tossed. Running the program under a virtual XP machine will give your old programs, like MYOB 7, access to those old API's. BTW, once the program is installed, it should auto register with windows 7. After which it will run in the win 7 interface almost as if it were a native program (will take longer to load as it has to load XP OS too).

One note, any custom forms (invoices, etc) may not work after copying them to the new installation of MYOB. Change their file attributes from Read Only (uncheck that box from within the files' properties dialog, via windows file explorer).

Oh, you'll definitely want as much RAM in your computer as you can get in there. XP mode will take a minimum of 512MB, but it'll be slow unless you set it up for at least a gig of ram.

Win. XP will not install hardware. ViviCam 3785

You don't need any special software. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or, despite what I said first, you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa.
