The brown tape thing is the interface cable that connects the drive to the ps2. You need to take the unit apart and find out where that cable plugs back into. There will be someplace inside the machine that the tape looking cable will plug back into. One inserted check the plug slot to make sure the cable inserts firmly and stays in place. If it does not you're going to need to keep in in place with maybe some tape or super glue.

VHS tape is running at high speed when insert it to VCR. no playback..buttons doesnot work.

Check if the fast forward button is more inside than the rest of the buttons. May be its stuck in the ff position. After all they were just micro switches below the plastic buttons strip. The specific ff micro switch may be stuck, if I were you I would try some switch cleaning spray to loosen it. But be prepared that the control ic is busted.

Item: DLT tape drive ( DLT8000 SCSI LVD Loader For Scalar 100 )Problem: Eject spring not fully loaded, as the result pick up tape unable to reach to pick. Please advice.

Look at this document to see if the interposer mechanism is holding the tape from ejecting. The solenoid that energizes to tape insertion or ejection sometimes relaxes and you have to move it manually out of the way to recover the tape.

Tape strip came deattached

You can't. That strip is more or less a wire. You'll need to replace the whole laser assembly.

My 19 inch tv/vcr combo has the Tape In indicator lite on, but no tape in it, and we cannot insert a new tape. Can you help?

I guess the easiest thing you can try , if you are handy with tools and a little knowledgeble with mechanical things is to replace the loading belt. Most of these problems are due to a loose belt(side of the cassette load mechanism) or inthe rear of the vcr mechanism(facing back cover)if this does not do it then i suggest geting it to a tv shop, might need timing align or end lamp replacement.

Dics will not eject

Chance are that some one has turned the PS3 on it's side or upright while a CD was in the try... you will have to open it because it's off the magnetic track

Tape won't play, FF, or eject.

sorry to say that none.no trip button for that.i assumed that the magnetic strip of the tape is already wind up inside.you'll need to open the unit up and gently rotate the flywheel of the tape player until you can open the door of the tape compartment.no need to force or it will just break.

VCR continually tries to eject the tape after it is inserted

If you have cleaned the head with a good head cleaner and you are still having a problem...the belt is probably worn. A good head clean should fix the problem.

There is a sd card stuck where the cd should go. There is also a disk there. Do you know how to fix it?

If you can see the SD card, Get a toothpick and wrap Tape onto it then reverse the tape so that you have sticky on outside. See it you gcan retract it that way. You risk damaging the Disc eject system if you try to force the disc to eject by pressing the eject button more than 10 seconds. Once you get the SD card out you can do the 10 second eject button thing.
