50" Plasma Vizio P50HDTV10A - no video - just flashing B & W

I have a 28 month old 50" Vizio P50HDTV10A that stopped working while watching our cable box input. Now all we get, regardless of input selected, is a flashing screen (no discernable picture) with the sound that corresponds to the selected input. There's a white 8 inch wide vertical stripe running down the middle that is visible during the flashing. Which board or boards do you believe need to be replaced?

Don't replace anything, Vizio has issued a lifetime warranty for this set because of this problem. No joke, call the customer service line and tell them you got the pop of death. They'll send someone out to 'repair' the set free of charge. If they can't fix it they'll give you a new one. Even if your mfg purchase warranty has expired. Call them and post the results. I've been fixing TV's longer than I care to admit and this is the first time I've actually seen a company stand behind their products like this. I bought a broken tv with the intent of fixing it and after replacing almost every board I could only manage to get the vertical racing stripe line, except mine was purple. I put it all back together and called to find out if there was a recall on this set and within 5 minutes the (Actual English speaking) gentleman told me to sit tight and he'd have a repairman come and do his thing. He did, and long story short, he couldn't fix it. Last week they delivered a new TV to replace this one. I was shocked. I think Vizio will have all my future business.
Good luck.

I wonder if its a matter of who you talk to, The P50HDTV10A and the P50HDTV are almost identical inside and out, styling being the major difference, perhaps its the plasma display itself making the sets distinguishable. Rats, sorry to hear that, but glad you're hard reset worked. Good Luck.

I have a Vizeo P50HDTV10A and when I turn it on I get a snowy white and black flashing screen. I have tried the powering off method with no results, I have tried calling vizeo but no luck, I was told by a service man that it could be the power boards? Their are two of them? He said they would cost approximately 300 bucks each. Anyone have any other suggestions?

I have built computers so if it is a matter of removing a board and re-plugging one in I would be grateful for any directions.

Thank you

Just spoke to Vizio, NOT TRUE! They do not have any type of warranty for the P50HDTV10A. So I am S.O.L. too! Funny, they said this is not a known issue. The reset, did not work for me

Vizio Plasma HDTV not working, flashing static!

I would start looking for a new set, replacement parts for that set are pricey. Trust me, I just recycled a P50HDTV10A that had a busted screen. I couldn't believe what the parts sold for !!! I don't know your preference LCD or PLASMA, but prices have really come down. So if it's in you budget, treat yourself to a new TV !!! Whatever you do, don't just toss the old set in the trash, toss that puppy on Craigslist and If you can get $50-$70 for it, take the money and run !!!

I have a Vizio 50 Plasma TV. Sound works but display is "noise".

It'll be the X or Y boards or maybe the power board, without checking the VA and VS voltages I can't tell.
