I have an excessive amount of water collecting in the refrigerator compartment of my Kenmore Coldspot unit. The source of the water appears to be from two holes in the top of the Refrig Compartment. Is this due to the Defrost Heater having to de-thaw the coils in the Freezer Compartment. Is this a symtom of low coolant pressure or too frequent operation of the defrosting heater?

Fridge is filling up with water. If this is the same problem, will it re occur soon after defrosting the drain?
A plugged or frozen drain is a common problem that occurs from time to time in just about all refrigs so the answer is yes it may occur again in the future. But folllow theses directions and it will probably not occur again for 2-3 years.

I think if you had a leaky icemaker or iemaker fill tube you would see icicles either running off the icemaker or running down the back cover of the freezer. I have a couple questions/suggestions:
Is the freezer section abnormally cold? ie: temps lower than -5 f this could cause the drain pan (which is aluminum) to run temps subzero and water will flash freeze in it. check to be sure the temps arent set too cold on temperature control. also if its getting too cold you would have problems with stuff freezing in fresh food section as well.
its possible that another peice of ice or something didnt get cleared all the way when you flushed the drain the first time. ( altho it sounds as if you did a fine job).
I have a recomendation. clean the drain again and while you have it pulle apart take a peice of solid copper #10 wire (make sure it is bare wire) about 4-6 inches long. wrap one end around the def heater, the blak rod running underneath the aluminum coil, and run the other end into the drain hole itself. this will transfer heat into the drain and prevent future freeeze ups.
this should take care of drain problems altogether. if this doesnt fix it i would recomend aling a service company as you may have something happening that I cant see from this end. Do post back to let me know how it turns out. thanks Peyton

Peyton, I did exactly as you said, there was an excessive amount of ice buildup behind the rear cover on the coils on the ice maker side. I defrosted and removed all the ice buildup ran warm water down the drain tube and even finished it off with a vacum cleaner with a stinger tip. That was last wednesday. Today (saturday) there was more water in the fridge. Does this have something to do with the inlet tube for the ice maker?

No success, I have more water in the fridge. It seems to be coming from the back of rear coil cover. Do freezers normally put off that much condensation?
