The best option would be to restore the iPod's software. To do that, plug in the iPod to your computer and open iTunes. Click on your iPod in the left hand column and click "Restore" under the iPod information. Please note that all songs will be cleared from the iPod. Once that is done, load the songs back on to the iPod and see if the problem is solved.

Ipod classic won't turn on, battery with lighting bolt when plugged in.

You probably need to reset your IPOD. Here are the directions:
1. Unplug the IPOD from the power source.
2. Slide the hold switch or button to HOLD and back again.
3. Then press the MENU and CENTER buttons at same time until the Apple logo appears.
You should be back up and running. If not, try again and remember to make sure you press MENU and CENTER buttons at the SAME time and continue to hold them down as long as it takes for Apple logo to reappear. I once had to hold them for more than a minute before an IPOD touch would reset.

I have a apple ipod A1199 my little brother got a hold of it now its in some forien language that i cant read how do i get the menue to read american again?

No problem, you'll just need to do a full reset to restore the language to English.

1. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)

2. Press and hold the Menu and Center (Select) buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 8 seconds. You may need to repeat this step.

Tip: If you are having difficulty resetting your iPod, set it on a flat surface. Make sure the finger pressing the Select button is not touching any part of the click wheel. Also make sure that you are pressing the Menu button toward the outside of the click wheel, and not near the center.

If the above steps did not work, try connecting iPod to a power adapter and plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet, or connect iPod to your computer. Make sure the computer is turned on and isn't set to go to sleep. Try resetting the iPod while it is connected to power.

It will come on to the main page but the click wheel won`t move

Look on top of the ipod to see if the switch color is orange, which means the ipod is locked.  Switch the thing the other way to unlock.  Also, make sure you got the latest software updates for the ipod to fix click wheel sensitivity issues.  You can also do a reset- push the center button and menu button at the same time until the apple logo appears.  Then you can release your death grip on the thing.  Take the thing back to the store if your within your warranty and have them deal with it if you still got problems.  Cheers.

My ipod won't let me go back to main menu and i can't turn it off

The easiest solution is to restore your ipod. This will erase everything on it and reset it back to factory defaults. You will need to sync when complete to copy your songs / apps / settings back over. Make sure you've synced recently before you try this procedure.

Press and hold the power button and the home button at the same time. Continue holding. Your ipod touch will power off. Wait a few seconds, and power it back on. Is it working now?

If not, turn your ipod back off then press and hold the Home button. Reconnect the USB cable to the ipod touch and your computer. When you reconnect the USB to ipod, the device should then power on.

Continue holding the Home button while it starts up. While starting up, you will see the Apple logo.

When you see "Connect to iTunes" on the screen, you can release the Home button and iTunes will display the recovery mode message. Click OK and iTunes will restore your ipod to factory defaults and re-sync your data.

If this is helpful, please rate me accordingly. If not, let me know and I'll see if I can offer other suggestions.

Ipod in chinese dont know how to switch back to english.

If you accidentally set iPod nano to use a language you don’t understand
You can reset the language.
1 Press and hold Menu until the main menu appears.
2 Choose the sixth menu item (Settings).
3 Choose the last menu item (Reset Settings).
4 Choose the first item (Reset) and select a language.
Other iPod nano settings, such as song repeat, are also reset.
Note: If you added or removed items from the iPod nano main menu (see “Adding or
Removing Items on the Main Menu” on page 11) the Settings menu item may be in a
different place. If you can’t find the Reset Settings menu item, you can restore
iPod nano to its original state and choose a language. See “Updating and Restoring
iPod Software” on page 69.

Changed language to french!

Disconnect your iPod from your computer, then press the Menu button until the menu title says "iPod," regardless of the language displayed. This means you are at the main menu.

  1. Scroll down to the last menu option but don't select it.
  2. Scroll up one menu item. This should be Settings.
  3. Press the Center (Select) button. This takes you to the Settings menu.
  4. Scroll down to the last menu option but don't select it; in English, this is the "Reset All Settings" option.
  5. Scroll up to the third menu item from the bottom one. This should be Language.
  6. Press the Center button to select Language.
  7. Select your preferred language from the list.
