Hello - I had the same problem. If you call a tech they will say that
the picture tube is broken and that it will cost $350 + labor to fix it
because Sony does not make the part! Do not believe that cock and bull
All you need to do it to remove the front lower panel
where the speakers are located. Behind it there is a cardboard /
plywood board fixed on to the TV with 4 screws. Remove this board. you
will then find a switch that contains 6 bolts/screws that can be
adjusted:- 3 (upper) and 3 (lower) sets of adjustment knobs or large
screws that are probably marked as G(for green), R(for red) and B(for
blue). You will probably have to adjust them very slightly while the TV
is on. Be careful so that you dont shock your self! And Voila, the
problem will be fixed!!
I am not an electrical engineer, but
work as an IT professional. It saved me a bunch of money, not to say a

This is due to you having a projection tv, some projection tvs are really bad for game playing and especially if you have a hdtv. even in the p23 manual it says that you shouldnt use with a projection tv cause it can damage your tv's screen permanently. I personally still play mine but, thats likly the problem.
Hi, without a manual to hand, i don't know, but my Panasonic had the same problem, but I found somewhere in the settings, I could change it, it has something to do with AV and Digital TV and hdmi setup, give it a check.
I hope this helps to some degree, but give us a shout if you require more help.
Sounds like the "channel" you are trying to watch on is not the one it's plugged into, or a faulty lead. check the connection from the sky box to the tv, and select the av or hdmi channel that it is plugged into on the tv. check the lead by swapping it for a known good one, for example from a dvd or ps3, but unplug from the dvd/ps3 and plug into the sky box(make sure that all the units are powered off when swapping leads) and try on the channel you normally watch/use the dvd/ps3. If you suspect the sky is at fault, press menu on the sky remote and then flick through all the av/hdmi channels until you find the menu, then try to reinstall/retune the sky box. If that don't work phone sky......................
1. Turn ON TV
2. Connect PS3 to TV HDMI input
3. select TV HDMI input for PS3
4. turn OFF PS3 if it is ON
5. Press and hold the [I/O]Power button until the PS3 until you get the "HDMI Detected" message.
Also, this TV has a circuit that deactivates the HDMI if the rear cover is removed. It is possible the HDMI may have been turned OFF. This is reset in the service menu of the TV.
Hi, right hdtv stands for high definitian tv witch basically means if you buy a hd dvd player or blueray then you can watch the films in really high quality alot better than normal dvd. The same if you had cable tv or sky you pay a fee for an hd converter then this lets you watch certain channels in high def. So it basically means that your telly is capable of using all the new hd equipment thats coming out like the playstation 3 can play high def dvd's as long as you buy the hd lead as you need this due to the fact that it sends more data to the telly their for giving alot better sound quality and alot better piture quality when watching hd dvd's. At the moment their are only a few tv channels that are using hd at the moment but this will soon change. So to watch hd dvd youll need an hd dvd player and to watch hd tv you need to contact your cable or sky people and ask them what you need to do to watch hd programmes. they will then upgrade your box and should send you an hd lead to plug into your telly from the sky or cable box. Hope this is helpfull and easy to understand.
Hd is well worth having as the quality is amazing you wont believe it till you try it i was shocked as the detail and quality is mind blowing its like watching real life, it really is that good.
You should get a good surge protector. Sometimes some areas have a spike in the power. That will cause interference in the TV signal coming from your PS 3. Try out different surge protectors that should solve your problem.
Im guessing your in the UK.
Asking about HD as you havent stated what country you are in.
Ok You will need the following to be able to watch HD pictures on your tv set.
Either Sky HD which involves having a dish fitted. Or Virgin cable system which is not available all over the country.
If you go to either of these systems you will need to pay a subscription to view the HD channels.
Ok, this is probably what has happened, you say that you have played games on your tv, well the thing is with HD and Plasma Screen tv's is that when you play Hi-Res games on them the games backdrop will burn itself into the screen, causing the screen to turn dark and not reveal the correct picture it should. People need to learn about this!!!!! Playing games on HD and Plasma tv's will screw up your resolution!!!
