I too have had this problem, I think you will find you pic's/files in a Directory under your Documents & Settings,Your Dir,my Documents, for XP, User,etc, etc for Vista. There will be a Directory under My Documents there probably Starcam or the like.. Another way I have used is to use this program Agent Ransack a brilliant stand alone search program here: http://www.mythicsoft.com/agentransack/ Install this and place an Icon on ya desktop. Then wat ya do is take a picture, then call it something unique, and save it as usual, but just B4 ya do, copy the to be saved name, to ya clipboard, if you like. Then use agent Ransack to find that file..if ya copied B4 you could now simply Paste in in the search box, or type it, with or without an extension and "Start Search" & when found, take note of where the address of the file is, under Ransack's "Location Tab"., and thats where the "Rest" of your files will no doubt be... Copy that address into your explorer window and press enter and you should be there.
