I just bought a new Motorola V3x off of a store on ebay and everything on the phone works except for the camera. Every time I try to use the regular camera it goes it the camera screen for about a second and then it cuts back to the home screen and the same thing happens with I try to use the video camera. Normally I would just send it back and get a different phone but I'm leaving for school in a week and I wouldn't get the phone back in time so Im trying to see if theres something I can do to fix it myself or if the camera is just disfunctional and I have to exchange it. Please help!
Hi moses219....full use of these features are dependant upon your carrier/service provider. Please update your post with the name of your Service Provider, and the complete model number of your phone in it's entirety. Also include in your post the list of accessories that you received with your phone. Please be detailed in your response as each seller provides some variation or another in supplied items with each sale. Even if you're unable to transmit photos or video due to limitations in your service contract, we can still apply 3rd party software to activate these features for storage on your phone/computer transer provided you have the neccessary supplied cable(s).....awaiting your update

Hi moses219....Thank you for your detailed update. I am going on the assumption that you have thoroughly read your manual, and/or are knowledgeable enough to be certain that you are following the proper procedures and setup to be able to use your camera/video, and it is indeed the phone that is malfunctioning.
Although, I will continue to work with you until your phone is remedied, in my mind, you are voluntarily committing an error by not replacing the phone with the seller. General consumer practice is to not accept an item if a defect is immediately detected, and this case certainly applies to the defective category. Please be aware that these updates/changes/installations may in fact void your opportunity to replace your phone with the seller, thus, my hesitation. The final outcome and incidental consequence however, can only be determined by you.
Let's begin by installing the Motorola Software/Firmware/Update onto your computer which must be running Windows XP SP2, or Vista 32bit by clicking on the folowing URL. ***NOTE that you must NOT have your phone plugged in to your computer prior to installaling this update on your computer*** Carefully read the directions and instructions, and continue at your wish.

Note that from start to finish, the entire installation process can take as much as 35 minutes.
For a complete detailed manual on the installation processes, click on the URL below: http://direct.motorola.com/hellomoto/mot...
Once these proccesses are successfully completed, you should, providing the phone seller has not blocked the use of video controls, have complete access and use of your video properties. If you would like to enhance these properties, I can direct you to a 3rd party source who supplies a popular add-on. Please update your post with your progress and if you require further information.....good luck my friend

my service provider is T-Mobile and the IMEI is 358003009028186. With the phone I also received a home charger, a car charger, a leather carrying case and a mobile Phone Tools disk which was actually a Magix MP3 Maker SE disk. There was supposed to be a Handsfree earpiece and a data cable that was supposed to come with it but they weren't in the package when I received it. I bought the phone on ebay from the user wireless_experts. I've tried to contact this seller about it and they said that I could send it in and exchange it but I'm trying to see if theres a way I can fix it without sending the phone off because I'm leaving for school in a week. I've had my service contract through T-Mobile for 2 1/2 years now and I was always able to take and send picture messages on my old phones, so I'm sure its not my service provider and it has something to do with the phone itself. Although I did not receive a data cable though the purchase of this phone I do own a data cable that is compatable with this phone and I do own a copy of Motorola's mobile Phone Tools and it did let me transfer pictures from my computer to my phone and it stored them just fine, but I cant take any photos with my phone at all.
well, somehow earlier tonight i went to show one of my friends how my camera on my phone wasn't working and it started working and its been working all night...so thanks for all your help but it looks like everything is working now
Hi again. So my camera was working for a week and now it's doing the same thing again. I tried the link you provided me and everything worked except that it said my phone's software is up to date and the camera still says "Busy. Try again later." every time I attempt to use it. I can't think of anything else to do. I have to leave for school tomorrow and now Im worried because the company that I bought my phone from hasn't responded to any of my e-mails so Im afriad Im going to have to report them to ebay or Paypal and try to get it settled that way, unless you have any other ideas because right now I'm stumped.
