I'm sorry to inform you that once voice-mails are deleted from your device that are automatically erased from the entire database. There is no retrieving voice-mails after deletion. This also applies to customer's who have received voice-mails and decide to switch devices (whether it's an upgrade or ESN swap). When any customer upgrades equipment or changes to another device, all voice-mails within the transfer are deleted. This does not apply to voice-mails that are "saved". Hope this information helps. Thank you.

How do you retrieve a voicemail message that has been deleted?

Unless your voicemail system has a "wastebasket" feature, you cannot retrieve an accidentally deleted message. It's gone. Not many VM systems have this feature. Cisco does, but Mitel low-end (embedded) models do not. The high-end Mitel NuPoint systems do. Older Avaya/Octel systems also do not. Contact your Voice Mail System Manager to find out what features your system has and how to access them. I've been away from this product for several years so features may also have changed. Hope this helps.

Voicemail flashing light will not turn off even after deleting all messages.

SOME WORKAROUNDs - which MAY NOT WORK for everyone!

while ensuring that the TBB line is ON HOOK - NOT OFF HOOK:

1) LISTEN to your NEW VM through the Portal. If you listen through Email forwarding - this will NOT cancel the flashing VMWI.

2) Access your TBB VoiceMail from another phone (cell) or through RemotePhone. LISTEN to your NEW VM from there.

The flashing VMWI should be OFF and back to normal operation! You need to repeat the above steps for any NEW VM.

•You need to have at least one NEW VM that you have not listened to for the above to work. So if there are no NEW VM, phone your TBB line and create one. Then LISTEN to it from the Remote Phone/ cell phone, or delete it from the Portal, and the light should go off.

•Note that listening to or deleting OLD VM (whether in CURRENT or SAVED folders) will do nothing!

Cannot retrieve voicemail

When you press the message button, look at the display. Is it really going to the VM extension or is it going to another phone? Othre people could have left you a message by calling you and pressing the MESSAGE buttone either on purpose, or by accident.

You can clear ALL message lights from your phone by dialing *700 plus your extension and #. Of course you can access VM by dialing the VM extension, usually 165 or 500 from the intercom.

Voice Mails won't go away

If you don't want to waste minutes listening to vm:
Just call your cell phone and let it go to voicemail. When the voicemessage comes up click the pound sign. It will ask you to enter your password, then you can listen to and erase voicemail for free.
