Hi - can anyone help please?
My printer continues to show a paper jam even though I've cleared every possible place that it could jam and there is definitely no paper in there.
Have wasted hours so far!!
Many thanks
There are sensors that tell the machine the paper is jammed us a q-tip to clean them, remove the toner cartridge and check under that area when cleaning the sensors.

Hi,
You will need to open you printer and look for pieces of paper in odd places or see if the paper sensor lever is in the right position. You can also try unplugging the printer and waiting about 1 minute then plugging it back in. See if that gets rid of the message. Some models will allow you to forward a page of paper though the printer even though there is a paper jam. If you can do that then that might clear the jam. Give it a shot! Good Luck!
Hi, Here is a guide of all possible paper jam locations on the X340 printer. http://bit.ly/cS4lpm If still no paper is found on any of those places then the printer has a faulty sensor. Depending on the paper jam numeric error is the sensor that may be failing.
The way you describe your error, it seems that there is still some residual paper stuck inside the printer that may cause subsequent paper to be mis-aligned.
Paper jams can be tricky to solve. The paper is usually stuck inside the printer mechanism so even if there is no visible paper jam, you will still get the paper jam error. Try this:
1. Turn off your printer
2. Open all trays and remove any paper stuck there
3. Locate the button to open the printer, open it and remove any paper stuck there also.
4. Repeate the above step for all buttons that you can find to access the inside of the printer
5. Close all doors and put back all trays
6. Turn on your printer

Remove the fuser and examine it closely (Note: the fuser gets extremely hot. Wait until it has cooled completely before touching it!) Paper or a paper fragment might be balled up inside it.
Even just re-seating the fuser might clear the sensor that is reporting this jam.
If the printer continues to stall with this error code, even though there is no jam, it could have a faulty sensor. This would have to be repaired with a service call...
I too kept getting the front cover paper jam despite followings Oki's paper jam removal instructions and blowing out the printer with compressed air.
In my case, the paper drawer was the problem. When you pull out the drawer there is a spring loaded piece of white plastic at the very front of the drawer. In the center of that is a gray rubber strip. That strip had come loose in the center and bowed out, preventing paper from exiting the paper drawer. I manually removed the strip, clipped off a little piece from one end so that it fit back in the recessed cavity on the white plastic piece and glued it back down.
This should be applicable to all Oki c5xxx color LED printers.
