It's the counter for the CR motor. You can reset and continue printing if you haven't noticed any problems in your printing. To reset turn off the main power and press and hold : Paper source, Paper Feed, and Cut/Eject. Turn the main power back on while holding these down. The maintenance menu will come up scroll through till you get to reset counters and press > scroll down to CR Motor press > again and then execute. Wait 10 seconds or so and turn the power off and back on. It will be reset and you can continue printing. If your print quality declines you will need to replace the motor.

SOURCE: which says maintenace required

The message indicates its time to clean/change the drum or other items inside the printer. You can purchase a maintenace kit online or take it in for service. You can also clear this message if you don't want to service your printer ... follow these steps: ***Keep in mind not doing the maintence may cause expensive issues down the road***

1. Shut the Printer off. (Use the shut off switch)

2. Hold down the Left Side of the ITEM and VALUE Buttons while powering the Printer back on.

3. Continue to hold Buttons until the Printer says “RESET MAINTENANCE COUNTER”, Then release the Buttons.

Coming with message on display maintenace required call for service

What is the error code that is being displayed? Is it displaying "Time for maintenance"? If there is no error code and the copier still works, it means the internal count has got to a factory set meter to have the drum & developer and possibly other part replaced at that time.

Your scanner should be checked by a technician to determine what is causing the error. There isn't any calibration or troubleshooting that can be done unless you have scanner parts.
