Vizio VA26L 26 in. LCD HDTV Logo

New vizio 26'' hdtv seems sharp from a distance, but pixalated and

Fuzzy when viewed from closer.... We have comcast cable, but do not yet pay for the additional HD box they offer for a montly fee. Is that what we need to do? Or should we exchange the TV for another brand, type that always gives a sharp picture, even without the added cost of an HD box?

It is important to understand the difference in digital cable and high def. high definision is on a fiber optic display alwing milions of pixels per square inch on your tv. the resolution effects your fuzzy picture you are recieving . the only real way to fix that fuzzy dull picture is to get a HD box from your cable provider and an HDMI cable to conect it to your HD TV. this is the only connection you will need for picture and top line sound. In the end the fee is usually $9.95 or less a month and it is well worth the difference in quality of TV viewing.

Lip sync

Vizio HDTV- Lips out of sync

Anyone with a new Vizio E601i-A3 60" or 70" HDTV that is having audio "Lips out of sync problems" with a cable or satellite box.

On Comcast cable boxes (or others), here's what you need to do: FIND MENU for AUDIO or HDMI setup on CABLE BOX or Satellite Box.

FOR COMCAST

1. Turn on TV and have Cable box Turned OFF.

2. Press MENU on COMCAST REMOTE.

3. Go to AUDIO Setting OR HDMI Setting. (On cable or Sat. BOX)

4. Change setting from Auto to L-PCM. (Turn off cable box to exit)

This should resolve any "out of sync" lips to picture after commercials on HD channels.

*This is a handshaking issue from the cable box to the Vizio E601i-A3

I have to press my remote control " ON " button several times before my 32" VIZIO TV finally turns on ? Help.

Sounds like simply interference, It could be a glare from a glass door for example. also it depends on how far you are from the TV, I would reposition your self a little closer to test the theory, If the distance is the issue you can either move closer or stop by a local radio shack and grab a remote extender that can extent your signal significantly they are normally between 10 and 20 bucks. also if the remote is not the factory remote that came with the TV and belongs to the cable company then that could also be the issue, Vizio is still not 100 percent support by cable company universal remotes. I do tech support for Charter Communications and VIZO is one of the biggest issues I see when it comes to remote compatibility with cable remotes.
Hope this helps and as always please feel free to reply with any further questions. take care :)

HDTV

Shouldn't have to, but HD through the wall connector may be an issue if you are wanting that. I don't know for sure. Almost all tv's made in the last 1 year - 2 years have digital tuners built in

No Non-Hd sound

I had the exact same problem on a brand new Insignia 26 " LCD with DVD. Comcast tech was able to fix it by changing the Comcast box diagnostics. Here is what he did. Using the Comcast remote with the TV on - press power, cable, menu in that order. A comcast diagnostic srceen will appear. Select Additional HDMI options, then audio options. Change the audio options to L-PCM. Press power again to exit the diagnostics. That will fix it and you get to use the HDMI cable.

Sharp Aquos LC-65D64U Picture Quality

You need to change your TV's settings and enhancements. Directly from the store and out of the box, the settings are adjusted for easiest sell in the store. That means that:
Your contrast is cranked to 100. Move this down to 50 to 60.
Your brightness may also be cranked up high. Lower it to a level nearer the middle range but not so dark as to lose detail in the shadows.
Your TV is set on "Dynamic" or "Vivid" mode. Pick "natural" or "normal" or standard.
Your sharpness is at least on, if not cranked up. Turn sharpness down or off, and the same with "Edge Enhancement" and "VSM", all to off.

Lastly, I bet you upgraded size and you are now sitting too close to the TV. Roughly, if you are sitting closer than 130 inches (about 11 foot) you might do some rearranging or save some money and get a smaller TV.
